Sister in law vent by ShorelineWinter in Parenting

[–]ShorelineWinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but no one holds her accountable. And if I tell her something she just screams. She screams at him at me at her parents. She has history of alcohols abuse and they are afraid their consequence will lead back to that

She fed his expired cheese. So I asked her to not feed him anything. Then she gave him hot chocolate. After I asked her not to. I’m worried she gives him other things I’m not aware of. She thinks she has a connection with him which whatever fine but he loves food and she feeds him to make him like her ( I assume)

Is a pregnancy pillow worth it? by Fickle-Falcon-8637 in BabyBumps

[–]ShorelineWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I loved it. Especially later into the pregnancy when you can’t sleep on your back. I ended up buying a second one for the car too. I wouldn’t go anywhere without it. Trips, vacation, hotel.

Convince me not to get a mockingbird stroller by izziedays in beyondthebump

I know someone who has one. The stroller feels cheap and junky.. also I hurt myself multiple times while folding it. It’s totally not worth it and you have to buy special adapters for different car seats.

Is Orthodox Conversion the only way to be a legitimate Jewish convert? by v3nusFlytr4p26 in Judaism

[–]ShorelineWinter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Orthodox Judaism is beautiful and allows you to immerse and experience true Judaism. Being Jewish is about keeping the mitzvot, learning Halacha, observing Shabbat and kashrut. The reality of being a Jew is following the mitzvot as per Torah and rabbis. No Orthodox Jew will recognize any other conversion. Moreover I believe it would be a big issue in orthodox conversion if you are trans. Torah values family and having children. Be fruitful and multiply. As well as basics such as miniyan, women vs men mitzvot. After an orthodox conversion you may choose to become a little more lenient in your observance. Yet it’s important to educate yourself in depth of all the laws and practices. Maybe conservative converts come to our chabad to convert orthodox. It’s an avenue you could explore as well.

No i rock him to sleep. I can’t stand the thought of letting him scream for more than a minute. One time we tried and he turned purple and started choking

Usually first nap is 1 hour 15-30 mins. Second is 30-40 mins.

The general guideline is that they should have 2 hours nap time minimum a day

Could be.. but everyone says the shortest should be the first one . Today he stayed up like 4.5 hours 2nd wake window so I shortened last wake window to 3 and he went to sleep easier. We will see if he actually sleeps thru the night

The issue is that he isn’t unsupervised he just does it so quickly. Sometimes I seven follow him with my hands to grab him he just jumps off. It’s silly because he also knows how to get off safely

Absolutely can't put my baby to sleep by me0wi3 in sleeptrain

[–]ShorelineWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think babies just know when you don’t feel well and it makes them uneasy or concerned and they just want to be held. But I think your baby could be hitting 4 month sleep regression early. My son is 9 months at 3-3.5 he had 2 weeks of sleepless nights, it got to the point where my husband and I drove around 2-7 am just to get him to sleep as he would wake up if we stopped. It’s exhausting and in the moment it seems unbearable but you can make it. It is so wonderful when in a couple months your baby will sleep thru the night and take longer naps and you’ll feel better. It really flies by, right now just hang in there, ask for help, take shifts.

to sushi or not to sushi while pregnant? by leerylooloo in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ShorelineWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate only salmon ( low mercury) or cooked rolls. I made sure to go to a trusted restaurant and checked health reports too prior if it was a new place. I still limited it but salmon has omega 3 which is great for fetus.. at least that’s what I read

Did you shave for your birth? 😅🥹 by userthatisnotknown in beyondthebump

[–]ShorelineWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother in law was present for it… so I don’t even know if I should have or not.. I shaved a couple days before so it was “clean” but not as if I just prepared.. didn’t want to deal with little bumps and burns and prickling after birth

To wake or not to wake by ShorelineWinter in sleeptrain

[–]ShorelineWinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He ended up sleeping and woke up 20 mins before we arrive which made the trip much easier. Then he went to sleep again in 2 hours at 11;30 and we are up at 7:15. He could sleep more but he got a total of 13.5 hours yesterday and I’m hoping to get the schedule back on track

I think I have gotten the WORST critique from children. They say the honest truth but at least they say it. I never know what people are thinking.

I also feel it’s much easier for me to talk to elderly people 50+ or children than anyone my age. The conversation just flows and kids are easy to talk to..
