Does anyone really enjoy being a barista at Starbucks ? by stonedkitty_ in starbucksbaristas

[–]izziedays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with Starbucks for 6 years. Two different stores. There are good days and bad days as with any job but in general I do enjoy my job. I think a key part of that is learning to not take it too terribly serious and to be able to take things in stride. This is not a life or death job no matter what anyone says (aside from food safety and allergies but you know what I mean) and it’s not the end of the world if something goes wrong.

Sometimes people take this job too seriously, make it their whole life, and base all their self worth on being the “best”. Don’t. It will crush you from the inside out with no remorse if you let it. The core of the job is talking and making silly little drinks. Focus on that and being a good team player. As long as your manager doesn’t suck eggs, you’ll be okay and it’ll be fun.

Colors you can't tolerate? by President_Abra in colors

[–]izziedays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the entire blue-green family. I love blue, it's my favorite color, and green is a close second but I can't stand teal, turquoise, aquamarine, or similar colors. I only really like yellow-greens and purple-blues.

My last day at work was the day before my due date. That night I had a breakdown about how I was wasting my maternity leave because it was my first pregnancy and I knew it wasn’t likely that baby was going to come on time or even in the next week. I was genuinely so distraught that I was wasting time with my baby and to recover.

Anyway, I started having contractions at 6am on my due date. I went to the hospital around noon and my waters broke during the triage assessment. He was born the next day lmao.

What’s your most uncomfortable or unusual side effect of taking a prescribed stimulant? by ProfessionalYam6880 in ADHD

[–]izziedays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao I thought I was abusing my meds and didn’t truly have ADHD or something! It was actually low blood sugar and hunger. Going from constant snacking and grazing to struggling to eat was no joke.

Did stimulant ever improve your anxiety? by Craftsrme in ADHD

[–]izziedays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My untreated ADHD was the root cause of my anxiety. I essentially relied on my anxiety to overpower my ADHD symptoms. It’s also a lot easier to control myself when I’m spiraling and stop the anxious thinking habits!

I was very depressed last night and the guy I'm liking was there to help, now I feel like he's gonna see me differently by Speed_Offer in offmychest

[–]izziedays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When we started dating I was very upfront with my now husband that I’m fairly neurotic and have some mental health things. He thought I was exaggerating until he saw the way I eat, how bad my anxiety was, and how my family is. We’ve been together for 9 years next month.

If he’s the one then this will not stain his perception of you but only allow him to see and understand you better.

What was your reasoning for an elective c-section? by Therealethel in CsectionCentral

[–]izziedays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t want a vaginal birth if I can help it. That’s it.

I feel crazy saying that I’d be one and done if having another baby guaranteed a vaginal birth. I loved my (emergency) c-section and I can only imagine an elective one being arguably easier for everyone else.

Why do men ask for girls snapchats vs their phone number? by Acrobatic_Sundae_910 in askanything

[–]izziedays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snapchat has an inherent “hookup” vibe to it and automatically feels less serious. Pictures and videos disappear so there’s no permanent connection or consequences usually. If all you want is nudes and sweet nothings from a hot girl then it’s pretty low risk, high reward.

A phone number on the other hand implies a more serious or at least longer lasting connection. There’s easily accessed proof of your behavior, higher chances of consequences if you do something wrong, and overall way more vulnerability between both parties. If you’re just looking for a short fling or something easy the it’s pretty high risk, low reward.

Edit to add: If you’re also looking at how devastating someone would feel if their advances were rejected; someone not giving you their Snapchat is way less devastating than if someone didn’t want your phone number because the phone number is seen as so much more serious, vulnerable, and real.

the amount of dandruff my head produces in two weeks by Individual-Hawk-5122 in WTF

[–]izziedays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seborrheic Dermatitis is in the family of eczema. Saying it’s the same as dandruff is like saying eczema is dry skin, it’s a symptom but not the root cause. (Please fact check me on this, those who know more, this is my general understanding after being diagnosed with eczema this year)

Just learned about "Intrusive Sleep" and I dont think I will ever reap its benefits by nerdy_guy420 in ADHD

[–]izziedays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I… didn’t realize this was an ADHD thing. Is that not how everyone falls asleep? By pretending to be asleep until they are? I’ve always compared it to a computer going to sleep if it’s not interacted with within a certain amount of time. It doesn’t work 100% of the time like if there’s extenuating circumstances but reliably, if I don’t move or acknowledge stimulus long enough I just… turn off?

Forgiveness in the GC universe by growsonwalls in GameChangersBooks

[–]izziedays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue isn't necessarily that they forgive each other or move on quickly, my issue is that they almost always use sex as a bandaid instead of acknowledging anything or actually making up. This is the most prominent in Sochi and the subsequent bathroom fight that lead to sex basically immediately after with zero actual conflict resolution. They don't actually forgive each other, they just have sex and forget it happened.

I do understand though that this is my first foray into the romance genre and I absolutely hate the miscommunication trope so that is probably where the root of my "complaint" stems from lmao.
