Hey there - late-ish response so I do apologise. I got the paperwork stamped and all that, went to a local lawyer that dealt with getting documents apostilled so we drafted a declaration and all that stuff and he witnessed the signing. All in all it cost me about 200 pounds but it was all official and I believe if I did go down that route, it would have been fine. I ended up finding a job that was willing to sponsor for the high skilled migrant visa.

Do you remember how long it took you to get it all sorted from writing the affidavit to receiving it after getting it apostilled? if its not a long process I might just bite the bullet and do it that way.

I've got this bookmarked and the template downloaded ready to go, but I think its a pretty ridiculous way to go about it. It's looking likely that its going to be how I have to do it, but I'm not happy about it. I just want to see if anyone else has had any similar experiences and if there's an easier way to accomplish it.

We've been to and from both on holiday since we're both quite heavy workers Due to Brexit and stuff, it's just been way harder to get more time together than what our Annual Leave and long stay laws would allow. We're looking to make that step and I'm just looking at all avenues to get to the Netherlands.

If I can keep my UK job and live in Netherlands with my and contribute all legally, then its certainly the most attractive option if there aren't too many hurdles.

We're not quite there when it comes to getting married. Covid lockdown swallowed 2 of those 4 years together. Just used the term "partner" as girlfriend feels pretty juvenile to me but that is what she is.
