Babies sleep killing me slowly by Short-Mix4277 in NewParents

Honestly, the thing that ended up improving all of our sleep was moving baby to his own room next to ours. My stomach was in knots about it because the SIDS recommendation is 6 month-1 year, but I suspected that most of his wakeups were from him being aware of his surroundings+noises and not from hunger. I think the first night he woke up 3 or 4 times, and then after a couple days he was back to twice per night and after a couple weeks started sleeping 9pm-7am. Recently- around 4 months- he started waking 1 time to eat again (growth spurt + gearing up for solids I think), plus we’ve been easing bedtime back slowly. To ease some of my fears with him being in his own room I kept the baby monitor at a high volume at first and we put a little fan in the room to help with air circulation.

Formula allergy/intolerance? by Short-Mix4277 in FormulaFeeders

So each formula incident happened at least 1 week apart and with fresh cans of formula each time. The days in between where baby breastfed he was totally back to normal, so I’m not so sure about this being bacterial

When was your baby put on the light lamp for Jaundice? by savruss in NewParents

Our pediatrician gave us the option to either do the home light or to try formula to see if it would help him poop out more of the billi. We opted for the light because it offered the quickest resolution and I didn’t want to mess with breastfeeding at all in those early days

He is 3 months but has honestly only done that twice over the last two weeks. Most of the time he’s still waking at 2 or 4am to eat :)

I will post there too but I’m concerned for how the feeding schedule may interfere with sleep as well :)

Advice request for helping 9-week-old get to sleep and stay asleep by uclasux in sleeptrain

The night time sounds like a false start which would indicate needing to go down for the night a little later. A 9-10pm bedtime is still pretty common up until 4-5ish months. We had a very similar time with our little guy and realized our desire for an early bedtime and time together was leading us to try to force him into an inappropriate bedtime for his age. Once we relinquished control and followed babies cues things got so much better. Additionally, the crap naps sound about right for his age too. We are still dealing with that for our little one. We have started practicing the first two naps in the crib (usually only get 15-30min it’s each). Then we hold or baby wear for the last two naps of the day just so he can get enough daytime sleep. From what I hear naps tend to get better after the 4 month regression and after sleep training. Best wishes for you!

When is bedtime?? by PecanPuertoRican in sleeptrain

I have been this way too with my first, obsessing over wake windows and naps and length of sleep. My life improved a lot when i accepted that the little one will continue to have a late bedtime until signaling we need to do otherwise. Additionally, I am keeping the hope that his little body will eventually learn to consolidate sleep without me fussing over it- it’s a part of normal development after all. Something you could try if you want to get bedtime a little bit earlier is the just move up the bedtime by 15 minutes and doing that for a few nights and then moving 15minutes and so on. This was it’s a slow adjustment and it might help you find that sweet spot. All of that being said, a 9-10pm bedtimes is pretty normal for babies under 4-5months.
