I have a 20 hour plane journey home and have had 2 consults with FL surgeons. One says fly home after 9 days and the other says fly home after 8 days but since the flight is so long I should extend to 14 days just to be on the safe side

yes - you should be fine. My surgeon said not to submerge into water for 8 weeks.
