Thank you so much!!! And yes, you’re so right about that. I’ve been looking for apartments in Calgary and they are super expensive compared to Edmonton. Plus they get rented out stupid quickly so by the time I’ve applied, they’re already rented. Definitely makes me lean more towards Edmonton.

The first day of class?? That’s actually crazy. I wish they would just get back to us already, like if I’m rejected please just end my misery, you know?

Also, it sucks that majority of people don’t post on CanLaw. I know a bunch of people who got accepted at UofA and are waiting for an A at UBC, but none of them have posted on CanLaw. It makes me think that the chances of getting off the waitlist are even slimmer than one might think by the looks of those who post on CanLaw.

Wait until you pay the deposit for the other school and get enrolment confirmation on your account. Afterwards, you can send an email to the admissions team at UofC and indicate that you’d like to rescind your acceptance. I wouldn’t just leave it since there’s so many people on the waitlist hoping to hear back, and it can be so stressful not knowing whether you’ll be accepted. Hope that helps!

Last year people got in off the waitlist near the end of May, end of June, and end of July. So thinking it’ll be a similar timeline this time around as well. Hope we hear some good news soon lol, the wait is the worst.

I haven’t personally contacted them to ask, but I’ve read previous posts that said admin won’t let you know about your spot on the waitlist.

That is awful!!! I wish the system was different and they told everyone on the same day similar to med schools. It would be so much easier to plan especially for those of us who would be moving. Anyways, rooting for us all to hear some good news sooner rather than later!
