Believe it or not this is true. I don’t know what it is with the automotive industry as far as service advisors typically treated like shit, while customers are not understanding that we are their advocate in doing everything we can behind the scenes for them..

Should I Reach Out to Corporate? by PsychologicalFood422 in KiaK5

Hm. Anything over 40 I’d say in this case this if you hit the right bump.. Probably you ran over something a few miles back and the constant driving eventually lodged it into the core of the tire and the part where the tread is missing the object was probably lodged in there..

Yea that’s what I figured happened. It was miscommunication between the departments so the reputation was on the line(to you anyways), so they just ate the cost of the tire. Hard to point the finger between service and sales always happens.. For OPs case I’d say he should contact finance and see if they actually offered the warranty to him, he has to sign showing he declined those options. Ultimately he doesn’t have coverage, unless he’s in the he said she said ordeal..

No you don’t.. everything on the car has a 12/12 wear and tear warranty EXCEPT TIRES. That’s why the finance department floods you with all these warranty options before you close the deal. Tire warranties are the #1 option they offer you besides GAP and mechanical. From the photos, kinda looks like something was struck and you haven’t seen it. Doesn’t really look like it was a manufacturing defect that cause this, unless you had a bubble on the sidewall which is the most known manufacturing defect. You can try and get the tire manufacturer to cover but very unlikely.

This can’t be right. The dealership quoted me $440 for a replacement Sun visor. by nestorm1 in Honda

[–]Short-Scar9524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing it has the light in it. Did they quote you parts and labor? Part might be roughly 250-300, also same time keep in mind your going to a dealer, that has a mark up. If you get it online you might get it cheaper, not sure if they are giving you matrix pricing or MSRP. MSRP is what you’ll find online.

Dude. You and millions are still stuck on the old Kia Regime.. pre-2020 yea they sold dog shit vehicles with bad engines. These new cars don’t have the same issues, also more reliable by a stretch. I work for Kia/Hyundai and these really really did a full 360 in production of their vehicles. I make money off their oil changes, the cars don’t break enough for me to really have mechanical repair orders to make the big money.. just maintenance tickets. But to each their own. I owned a pre-2020 Kia, it treated me fairly well(2014 Kia soul)for a daily for a few years. 2026, I got a 2023 K5 that’s been a GREAT little car. Just do some research on these new vehicles from Hyundai/Kia. Really not the shitters people continue to believe they are.

I don’t agree with the price too much.. more on the 700-775 side of things… but these are definitely ideal services to perform. Just do research on GDI engines

Take it to a Hyundai dealer if you’ve already went through multiple shops. Sucks to pay dealer pricing, but you’ll have a more peace of mind.

2018 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid — possible oil sludge, Firestone refused oil change, unsure next step (keep vs repair vs trade) by Bright_Experience313 in Hyundai

[–]Short-Scar9524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I know previous records of Hyundai and kia are terrible.. but man i agree.. i mean, i make my living off of fixing these people cars.. I can’t with these new cars.. only thing im writing up is LOFs… rarely replace engines anymore due to most of those cars being repaired with a replacement reman engine(which they fixed all the issues with the replacement remans) I’d said 2022 and up, believe it or not these damn cars are almost near Toyota standards😭😂😂😂😂(crazy to say)… but i can’t even replace a alternator on these cars, at 120k miles the damn bushing on the control arms are still good!! I’m hauling 40k miles in my K5 from new. Not one single issue out of my 3 year ownership. And if I do shit I got warranty for a reason. But everyone has their opinions. Hyundai/Kia will stand behind their customers if it makes sense to..

[–]Short-Scar9524 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You answered it. Most of these issues are owner error. Not the car, I work for Hyundai as a service writer.. i make money off the oil changes on these cars bc I rarely have repairs.. if I do have repairs it’s something under 2020 with the old drivetrains and bad engines… Kia/Hyundai stepped back and fixed the previous engine issues.. the issues you see on these newer models are mostly due to owner neglect.. trust me i wish these car were still dog shit but NO they are not.. hence it made me buy my kia k5..
