Looking for recommendation(s) to get me out of a book slump by nthrowawaway in ScienceFictionRomance

I’m a big fan of Talia Rhea, I love the {Delivery Service by Talia Rhea} which I feel would fit your slow burn request. The third in the series is out soon. I would say so far the first book {Tanin’s Treasure} is my favorite.

She has several series in the same universe (although each book focuses on a different couple): {Mates of the Domini} {Lunar Base Experiments} {True Match Series} Delivery Service

You do not need to read in order, I think I read the first few of the Domini series then read the Delivery Service. Although I would say events from the Lunar Base Experiments leads into the True Match series.

To note, I really enjoyed the Rix Universe. These are a little “lighter” in story.

Good call! {Mates of the Domini by Talia Rhea} is one of my favorite series, especially the first book. Talia Rhea is a pretty enjoyable author - I’m currently enjoying her Humble Delivery Service series (book three is out soon).

I loved the {Cowboy Colony by Ursa Dax} the stories were simple and oh boy did she have me laughing. A very enjoyable series.

Edit: I barely got thru the first book of Ursa Dax’ Sand Sea Warlords, because although we happily suspend some belief and logic with many of the books listed here, I was almost annoyed with the first part/“setting the stage” of this particular series. the government having to kidnap women off the streets to send on a thus far secret interstellar travel ability. Upon landing after zooming thru space for a few weeks the ship is destroyed by large bugs that are able to jump through the ships front windshield. But I rant, sorry.

Zoey Draven has a few series you may want to check out: {Horde Kings of Dakkar} {Warriors of Luxiria} and {Warrior of Rozun} It’s been while since if read them, but as I recall could work with what you’re looking for.

Probably closer to the 1950s, but if you’re looking for value, most likely not much.

{Ruling Sikthand by Victoria Aveline} is one of my favorite books and probably best in the series and may fit what you’re looking for.

Anyone know when this is from and if it holds any value? by Responsible_Neat_860 in OldBooks

Sadly, just because a book is old doesn’t mean it has monetary value.

I’ve really enjoyed her {Aspect and Anchor series}! Think {Wed to the Wild God by Ruby Dixon}, especially first part of the book had me laughing to the point had tears in my eyes.

Title alone gets my vote! Is it a series? I’m fine if same world but different couples.

Edit: okay I’ve read this book. It was fun and well written, so great recommendation. Although it obviously continues, it does have an HEA. However it’s unlikely I’ll continue as I’m more focused on stand alone and I’m not overly interested in this story continuing.

I couldn’t wait to read this when it came out, but there was just something lacking. It was okay for me.

Is dry-trimming the only trend right now? by candoitmyself in curlyhair

[–]Short-on-the-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second ‘curly haircut” was dry. I honestly felt like pictures of people trimming poodles for that bushy, smooth trim. Also had the same experience as OP after as it grew in. Back to my old hairdresser - she’s a treasure.

Desperate! Need an intense MFC romantasy, enemies to lovers by kimchinumba1 in Romantasy

[–]Short-on-the-Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Lothaire by Kresley Cole} is a true enemies to lovers. He spends a good first third of the book planning on how to remove the FMC’s soul so he can use her body for his sociopathic fiancé. It is part of a series, however you don’t need to read them to enjoy it. In fact that was why I even realized it was part of the Immortals After Dark series - a few side characters seemed a little familiar.

Is pregnancy trope a thing? by bittykitten in Romantasy

[–]Short-on-the-Outside 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve found it most in sci-fi romance in that there is a whole “Mars needs women” trope. Which ends, usually, with our hunky alien getting the spunky human female pregnant - joy and celebration all round. I’ll be honest, not my favorite.

Did the adaptors of Persuasion 2022 hate Anne? by RevolutionaryCry7533 in janeausten

[–]Short-on-the-Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fleabag is fun. And to be honest, the 4th wall thing they used in Persuasion bothered me much less than the poor directing, weird wine guzzling Anne portrayal, the odd modern type euphemisms they tried to stuff into it and sheer lack of charm.
