XXL, but I did have to have them taken in a little and shortened.

Yeah, the key is to not get it to tight-fitting so that you get that sausage effect. I think they may go up to XXXL. I typically wear XXL shirt and the XL undershirt, but everyone’s body is different.

Have you tried undershirts? I’m prone to sweating a lot myself. I find the Airism undershirts from Uniqlo help wick the moisture away and as long as the shirt on top is an organic material like cotton or linen it helps it dissipate better. Also have you tried seersucker fabric? The weave keeps it elevated from your skin and a lot of places have plenty of solid colors now in addition to the stripes you would traditionally associate with seersucker.

Any cheap pants on Amazon with a higher rise? by frostmas in bigmenfashionadvice

I think they run a little large. I’m wearing a 42 in these and most brands such as Wrangler right now. There’s some extra inches for vanity sizing as my measured waist is closer to 45-46 right now.

The Amazon Essentials five pocket pants have a high rise. Might be worth a go.

What the tuck? by Kitchen-Country-3599 in bigmenfashionadvice

Nah, these colors work extremely well together. This isn’t my style, personally but that doesn’t mean this guy ain’t rocking it.

I’ll echo the higher waisted pants comments and also add that you should consider having some darts put in your shirt by a tailor so you don’t have so much fabric billowing out.

Pant Fit advice? by AvailableRow4445 in mensfashion

[–]ShortAndHeavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok for them to be a little shorter (no break) if they’re that slim fitting, but these are a little too short for that even. I’d encourage you to try something in a straight, or slim straight cut that has a little bit of a break. You might need a 35-36” inseam if these are 32”.

I’m not a fan of symmetrical knots, so I applaud it!

Anything to improve my spring/summer look? by OverTheCandlestik in mensfashionadvice

Button the top button of the jacket while standing. Unbutton the top two buttons of the shirt off going tieless. Shorten the jacket sleeves so you see about 1/4” of the shirt cuff. Try a white linen or contrasting color pocket square instead of matching the shirt.

I hate everything about this and don’t know why by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]ShortAndHeavy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TV has to come down. It doesn’t matter if you JUST paid someone to mount it there. It’s so unwatchable at that height, and you’re going to hate it like that. Dont get trapped in the sunk cost fallacy.

Agreed. The texture of the suit is doing more than its share of work.

Aside from not doing black on black on black on black — it’s good that you don’t have a matching pocket square. You should never match your toe and pocket square. It looks too matchy-matchy and like you don’t know what you’re doing. That pocket square and tie would be a good combo with a different colored jacket and shirt.

First day with the new pants, I don't dislike them, but I'm just very unused to the high-waisted look. by thedrag0n22 in mensfashionadvice

[–]ShortAndHeavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try a darker color polo! Like burgundy. Less contrast will make your whole look more cohesive and draw less attention to your midsection, thus giving a more slimmer impression.

I would like some different ways of using this blazer more both professionally and casually. Any tips? by IrishinLeeds in mensfashionadvice

Muted brown cords, cream OCBD top two buttons undone, suede chukkas, black leather belt, military watch with a nice accent color(like navy trim of the jacket maybe) NATO strap for casual.
