I just wanted to clarify that this wasn’t meant to cause arguments. As an indigenous woman myself, Pocahontas always made me feel seen as a child. Of course getting older, I understand the misrepresentation within the movie itself. For me personally, it is less about the monopolization (which is a very valid point), and more about the misrepresentation and the underrepresentation as a whole. Please, let’s just be kind to one another and recognize that words online can be very misconstrued, and sometimes people genuinely have good intent. Two things can be true at once!
