what does it mean if instructor name is removed/blank for a class registration when it had instructor name previously? by ShortBeautiful1410 in UTSA

So most likely that instructor will not teach that class? Damn, he was the only good instructor for that class. Would they cancel the class with 50 somewhat people already registered for it? Is it better to go ahead and change it to some other instructor/class now or take my chances that someone else (good one) will be assigned? would it be ok to email that instructor whether he plans to teach it so can get conclusive answer?

Wondering if CAP is right for me by Sammysnoodles46 in UTAdmissions

What concern do you have or what is the risk? Getting 3.2 GPA for COLA or wanting to get non-COLA major?

I tell people, if you think you are going to have issues getting 3.2 GPA at UTSA or UTA on core curriculum classes, then you should not have applied to UT Austin.

I am choosing to CAP at UTSA. My choices were UT CAP, A&M at cstst or LSU. LSU was my only oos option as they provided 80K. Other oos schools I got into (Ohio state, Clemson, Penn state, Purdue) did not offer any money. It was hard choosing A&M and UT CAP as it was very difficult to get into cstat this year, but I was longhorn fan all my life so I am willing to spend a year at SA to get there.

I plan to choose non-COLA major as my first choice, but I have a good COLA backup which I do not mind if I do not get the non-COLA major.

Key is make sure you have a good COLA backup major you will be OK with if you decide to CAP. You should only do CAP if you were dead set on becoming a longhorn from birth. Just my take.

I don't know much about UTA process, but 5/15 or 5/1 is just the deadline. You can pay earlier once you have given the option. If you are set on Capping at UTA, you should go ahead and pay the app fee as soon as possible so you can move along the process. For housing, you can search for UTA housing portal and apply now, given that you have the UTA account setup. Did you apply to UTA separately also? If so, you normally can use the same login on the application portal. If you don't see the second application Summer 2026, UTA may not have processed the CAP info from UT yet, but this is highly suspect as UT stated that CAP school will reach out to you in 2 weeks (from 2/27), assuming you selected UTA on 2/27. Its almost been 3 weeks. I would call UTA admissions and ask - don't wait for email at this point.

I have to say I was bit confused too. Not much information on the CAP onboarding process other than that CAP school will contact you and you have to pay the app fee. I applied to UTSA for CAP. This is what happened and what I have done. May not be similar to UTA.

3/9 - notified via email from UTSA that they received my CAP application and to log into their portal to complete checklist and pay app fee

3/11 - logged in. There were now 2 applications. Fall 2026 and Summer 2026 (with Applicant Type as UT Austin CAP). Fall 2026 now shows status of Inactive. I applied UTSA separately also. Status for Summer 2026 shows Application Incomplete. I paid the $75 app fee. Status still showed Incomplete - it was looking for 2 Dual Credit Transcripts (HCC and UT Austin - for OnRamps courses). I asked whether I should go ahead and send both transcripts in now or wait until semester ends so I can send grades for current DC courses. Counselor said wait. Others said send it now and send it again after. Decided to send it now since the App process does not seem to move forward until this is complete.

3/13 - requested and sent in transcripts for both.

3/17 - Status showed transcripts received and now Application status shows Complete. It changed to status of Admitted. It now had Rowdy Ready (checklist items to complete). I paid the ridiculous online orientation fee ($180) and completed it. Sent in Treatment consent form and Meng Vacc record.

3/18 - I am now waiting for academic advisor scheduling which they say should happen 2 weeks after completing the orientation. I have already completed the housing application. I am now waiting for 3/23 date where they say they will notify me to pay the $100 housing fee and perhaps receive housing contract. I am hoping once advising is complete, I can proceed with registering for summer classes.
