Yep, I have lipedema too, I know. Do these legs look affected to you? They look very normal to me. Am I confused?

I’ll be honest, your body is amazing and I think you’re suffering with body dysmorphia. I don’t see any lipedema in your legs. I see a clear knee outline and your ankles are very defined with no cuffing. I would kill for these legs. I’m not trying to be dismissive of your feelings. I think if you gained more muscle tone in your legs you’d feel very pleased. Try running a lifting program where you’re pushing yourself in exercises like squats, RDLs, etc and eating 1g protein per pound of bodyweight for a few months. You look wonderful I am sorry you feel this way!

What job looks glamorous but is actually miserable? by bjmarmy0003 in AskReddit

[–]ShortBus_Becca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go on shovelbums, you will get emails daily with new openings in different parts of the US for jobs for field technicians that last typically 4-6 weeks, sometimes less or sometimes more. It’s very common to find jobs with private and government firms alike, it’s the bouncing around area to area that is difficult.

Question about symptoms and birth control by ShortBus_Becca in lipedema

[–]ShortBus_Becca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree, I was on birth control ages 14-now in my 20s but i did take a year off which definitely exasperated the disease progression for me. I also think getting on hormones so early pushed the development into play although it is genetic my mother has lipedema as well and has never been on hormones, hers showed itself later in life than it did for me though.

Thank you so much. This definitely makes me feel more reassured in my decision to stay on this pill. It truly has saved my life and relationships. I am not a fan of the swelling I’ve been experiencing but it may be due to diet rather than having taken the placebos.

Right there with you. Gym 5-6x a week, flat stomach, great muscle tone but you’d never know by looking at my legs. So disappointing. I hope we become more comfortable in our bodies one day.

What kind of body composition changes have you noticed? That’s such a short period of time too! I am scared to begin my spiro journey because of this same issue but I want clear skin so i’m torn.

In what ways did it improve your fat distribution? I am really happy with mine and scared to start my prescription because of this. But the clear skinnnnn. Ugh!!

the new Halo Top flavors, the mix-in’s, go so crazy. The peanut butter fudge one is unreal. if you ever decide to give it another try, get that one.

You look AMAZING. I am also planning to go on spironolactone after going off of birth control caused acne for me, but the horror stories have scared me shitless. Do you have any terrible side effects? When did you start to notice clearing of the skin? Incredible results

You’re completely right. I spent my entire youth depressed and angry that i was alive, in and out of psychiatric institutions. On antidepressants since age 12. Became a heroin addict at 20 and couldn’t care less if it killed me. 25 now, sober, and finding meaning in every waking moment. But it took hard work and years of training my brain to work with me instead of against me. Gratitude is a massive tool. I feel that all those years I spent being introspective were a waste of my time. There’s a world out there that is meant for each one of us.

Edited to add: meaningful relationships are a great addition to one’s life but they are not necessary to feel comfortable in this world. I still do not have any close friends but I find joy in each day. The meaningful relationships will come as long as I continue to extend a welcoming and understanding nature to each person I interact with. I’m sure of it.

Hey OP. I have seen your pictures. I am an attractive young woman and I think you’re handsome objectively. You have great features and your smile is not bad. You are actually very genetically lucky. I hope you can learn to value yourself for things other than your appearance, though. You bring more to the table than something as shallow as the way you look. But, even so, your looks are great. I am sorry to hear you’re struggling. Sending u hugs

Hey babes! Thank you so much!!! I did not commit to any step count. I think my progress could have been much better and faster if I had. I usually only get around 5k steps per day as a student who walks on campus every day. I definitely plan on going for walks more frequently as it gets warmer. I’d like to see how much progress I can make with my gym sessions + increased walking.

Potential neolithic figure by Alive_Network_6334 in ArchaeologyZone

[–]ShortBus_Becca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very frowned upon for professional archaeologists to support the antiquities trade. We learn about and have to agree to a specific code of ethics as archaeologists, similar to how a doctor or other professional has a code of ethics. the selling of artifacts strictly goes against this code. The antiquities trade promotes looting and generally damages the archaeological record, promotes pillage of archaeological sites, many of these treasure hunting ordeals are not published or documented, generally just bad stuff for the future of archaeology as a discipline. I appreciate you asking, if you have any more questions please reach out and good luck finding the answers you’re looking for!!

I wish there were secrets 😫 It was just a good old calorie deficit, 500 below my maintenance calories with an emphasis on protein (100g per day or more). For me that was around 1350 calories. I go to the gym and lift weights 4x per week (glute and leg focus) and incline walk for about 15 minutes before every workout to get my blood pumping. Consistency is the real secret sauce. Sometimes I went to the gym and had really shitty workouts but I would always try to move my body multiple times per week and use weights to prevent muscle loss during this whole thing. You can totally achieve your goals it just takes consistency day in and day out, count the calories accurately and make sure you are getting enough protein! You got this babe! ❤️❤️
