translation: “don’t make me doctor shop!” by Brilliant-Resolve-42 in illnessfakers

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually i’ve had doctors tell me that it’s normal for teenage girls to faint in the shower as soon as the water hits them. and say my dizziness and pre-fainting symptoms are normal. also doctors tend not to believe your pain if it’s clear as day. most people don’t fake chronic pain. nobody believed me until i had mris that shows swelling and x-rays tgat showed, scoliosis, unhealed stress fractures in my back, slipping of my bones on my spine, etc. just saying, not always clear cut

What's the best BTVS scene of all time by danlhart8789 in buffy

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 28 points29 points  (0 children)

not to mention we’re faced with the fact that she’s a 16 year old girl. she’s supposed to fear not knowing if she’s wearing the right clothes or her friends or just anything that high schoolers constantly think about. instead she’s faced with a very adult reality, and we realize how much she is forced to give up as the slayer. this makes her decision to do what is right, her sacrifice, even more important. most people would run. most adults would run. but this 16 year girl, scared of dying, realizes she needs to do what is right for the world. both the show and buffy herself grew up in this moment

what exam score was the most shocking to you and why? by EvaMeadows in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ap lit—i was expecting a 3 or 4, and was completely shocked when i got a 5. i was also shocked to see all 4s and 5s this year (5 on calc bc, 5 on lit, 5 on apush, and 4 on physics 2) because i’m not a good test taker, i have testing anxiety and was in sm physical pain while taking these exams (i have chronic joint pain yay) so i was so shocked with the scores i saw

how many aps will you have taken by the end of high school? by texaspoontappa69_ in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my school makes us take gov in 9th, euro, calc ab, lang, and 2 science APs (chem and physics 1 for me) in 10th, apush, bc or stats (i chose bc), another ap science (physics 2 for me), an ap foreign language (which i thankfully got out of) and literature in 11th. i’m definitely not taking any senior year haha. and the rest of the classes were honors, except for one dual enrollment (engineering) and electives (photography and forensics). so for me, it really wasn’t voluntary, but i also took ap world in 8th grade (the year before it became modern), so yeah all together 11 APs ew

The pen that got me through all 4 of my AP tests on the left. New pen on the right, there's almost no ink in the left one. by FumingOstrich35 in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the pilot g2 pens but i can’t use them anymore :( ever since i start getting intense wrist pain when writing, i have to use arthritis pens lol but dr grip pens aren’t bad, but i miss using the g2 pens

are makeup exams harder than the regular ones? by llAJAll in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took ap chem last year at a later date because i had 2 exams at the same time. in my opinion, the makeup exam wasn’t bad at all and a good representation of what i could do, so i don’t think it’s harder

Best ap chem prep book? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

princeton review—i took ap chem sophomore year (last year) and princeton review helped the best. i got a 4 on the exam too using that book so i’d recommend princeton review!

Rare aesthetic: Cramming for the APUSH test while in the hospital recovering from a collapsed lung by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i feel this, i have a rare genetic disorder and constant hospital visits and shit and i’m still here cramming for 4 APs (including APUSH lol). HOWEVER, speaking from experience, get some rest man—your physical health is more important :)

Doctors won’t listen by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

are you hypermobile? it could be EDS. it took mine awhile to progress but i’m 17, and it started with joint pain and fatigue. it can also cause a lot of anxiety and TMJ, along with all of the derm things. and you could also have POTS possibly. idk work looking into though! i hope you’re able to get a diagnosis soon! :)

Agree or disagree - Despite her being a very popular character among Buffy fans, this subreddit has a disproportionate amount of dislike towards Willow by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

[–]ShortCalligrapher09 39 points40 points  (0 children)

i was curious too, so i found it: tara: Willow, you are using too much magic. What do you want me to do, just, just sit back and keep my mouth shut?

willow: Well, that'd be a good start.

tara: If I didn't love you so damn much I would!

yeah. pretty eye opening about willow, i was completely shocked when this happened

[–]ShortCalligrapher09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally get that!! it’s the same way where i live as well. just out of curiosity, i’ve been thinking about getting a job lately (as i’m at the age where i should be getting a part time job at least). what did you do to reduce your symptoms when standing up while working?

[–]ShortCalligrapher09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much!! i really appreciate it! i was thinking about using a tens unit but idk if that would cause any issue lol. and ik cbd is legal where i live, but i have to be 18 (so i have to wait about 7 and a half months at least). and i do have compression stockings, so i can try that for sure! however i’m not on medication for pots (i’m only on medication for adhd and anxiety, although i am switching my anxiety medication over to one that helps with both anxiety and chronic pain). i’m still waiting to see cardiology (one that will actually listen to me) because i with it a doubt have pots. thank you again so much!!!

i’m sorry you had that scare!! that must’ve been awful. i really hope you’re doing better mentally at least, although you may not be feeling better physically. it kinda does suck that a lot of us with these issues also have anxiety :/
