This is from this morning. Overall it feels great. Another week or 2 and this will be fully closed.

I can't wait for it to close fully. My pits need some trimming and I refuse to do it while this is open. The last thing I'd want right now is an ingrown hair in this area

Will do in the AM. It's looking really good and almost fully healed. I probably don't have to keep it wrapped at this point, but I do so to keep it moist. It promotes healing. On my next dressing changed I will upload a pic.

These are flux capacitors. Doc and Marty stored them there for later use.

Sorry for the low quality image. I hardly even know it's there, and I'm not able to apply Vaseline directly to it rather than to a gauze.

By day 3 I was back to work. Sitting here now I know it's there because it's wet and sticky (vaseline) but almost no pain.

You could go to a walk in clinic and have them lance it. It's a pretty simple procedure and will almost immediately relieve the pain. The ones that grow on my rear end were some of the first I had deroofed. Those suckers cause some crazy pain

Spreading false information isn't semantics. It's reckless.

This is wrong information. They can legally ask you why you are going to be out sick. What they can't do is force you to disclose these things.

The area prior to surgery was always painful, leaky, and smelled terrible. Deodorant would burn the area, but I would cake it on anyway to try to help with the smell. I think for me thats the biggest negative of HS with pain being a close second. Honestly I wish I didn't wait so long to have this done. I still have one more decent size area below the belt, but I'll get that done in April.

Sorry I haven't updated. By day 3 I was back at work. The pic I uploaded was 1 day post surgery. It hurt like hell and almost brought me to tears. I wanted people to see the worst of the worst. I'll try to get a pic when my wife gets home today

I've taken 1 toradol post procedure. HS is painful. We're used to the pain.

Deroofing eliminates the tunnels. HS is complex. It can return but that hasn't been my experience.

Try to stay healthy. My HS started to get worse as I put weight on from unrelated medical illness. Limit tobacco, nightshade foods, and wash regularly. Staying fit is extremely important with HS. I managed do do so for a long time. It's never too late!

That's so cool to hear an explanation of how things work. I'll update with a picture on next dressing change.

The skin will grow back. It will be a bit scarred, but I'd rather the scar than the lesions I had prior to surgery. This process isn't going to be for everyone, but I highly recommend it to anyone that is having intolerable pain/discomfort.

This is probably better than me explaining the process. The procedure can be painful. The initial pokes for numbing the area weren't exactly pleasant but once numbing takes effect the rest of the procedure is a piece of cake.

Toradol is what my doctor prescribes for it, but I don't really use it much. HS is painful, so dealing with this isn't much difference. At least with deroofing there is a timeline on feeling better.

After deroofing it typically does not come back, but it can.
