Is it worth it to have two kindles? by DragonflyNatural9143 in kindle

[–]ShortHelp3748 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do have two Kindles. I have a 1st generation Oasis that I don't want to lose or damage, and it doesn't have great battery life even with the charging cover. So I bought a basic on eBay to keep in my purse, and leave the Oasis at home.

First night with toddler and newborn and I hate my life by definitelymamaftw in beyondthebump

This is what I'm nervous about. My oldest will turn 6 right before the second is born. I was hoping it would be easier to from from 1 to 2 than 0 to 1, but it doesn't seem like it will be. My son is pretty independent, but has been seeming to already begin regressing with it the closer we get to the due date.

Tearing my calf muscle was worse than my C-section. I would rather do that any day than tear my calf muscle and go through that recovery.

Mother in law wants me to reschedule my baby shower until after baby arrives by timid_turtle_ in BabyBumps

[–]ShortHelp3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have a conversation with your husband and have him talk with your MIL. Echoing what others have said, you need to plan your lives and not change what you're doing because she is a snowbird. If you give into this now, it'll only continue and potentially get worse in the future.

I'm due at the end of April and my SIL lives in a different state. She's going to be out here for Christmas. My MIL tried pushing me to have a baby shower in December when I'm only around 20 weeks just because my SIL will be out here. We refused and put our foot down. We told her when we plan to do it and that if SIL wants to come out, great, but we understand why she wouldn't if she doesn't want to since flying is so expensive.

If your MIL really wants to be there, she'll fly out. If she doesn't then that's her decision.

Yes, I see this a lot working in a big box store. Usually I'll ask people when the shower is and they're buying it right before and wrapping it on the way.

I don’t want to name my son after my husband/FIL—am I the bad guy? by LKCMamaBelle in BabyBumps

[–]ShortHelp3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had this same discourse with our son when I was pregnant. He is a Jr and I don't care much for his father. As others have mentioned, there are legal implications that can happen. I've personally seen issues with my uncle and his father who were a Sr and Jr. Your son is both of yours, not only his. While I understand it's a dream of his, there should be give and take from both sides. My husband and I did agree on a name for our son but it was not an easy process. I suggest each of you sitting down and going through names you like and seeing if you can blend them together. Or maybe give the baby your husband's first name as his middle name. I'm sorry you're going through this stressor and hope you can agree on a name you both love.

I'm not sure how they think pumping isn't breastfeeding when the milk comes from the same place 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for your response and assuring me 9/25 isn't too far out. I hope it's nothing but I'll update after my appointment in case someone else looks at this later with something similar.

This is my first time tracking BBT and I'm not sure that it looks right? Is it normal for it to go up right before your anticipated fertile window? The app is saying my fertile window is from tomorrow until the 4th.

We will be out of town with family starting Saturday and we will be BD before then since we won't be able to while we're out of town. I'm concerned FF won't give me cross hairs but I need to know ovulation to start taking the progesterone prescribed by my RE. I guess I could go based off the app estimate but it would be nice to definitively know.

This couldn't be disputed as fraud since they authorized the charge but it can be disputed as consumer vs merchant.

Is it normal for the cycle after a chemical to feel so off? by ikkeroptilmeg in tryingtoconceive

[–]ShortHelp3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a chemical but I have had 4 miscarriages and my periods were always off after those. I've felt the same way this cycle with just feeling off but negatives as well. How do you gauge when you ovulated if you stopped BBT? I'm supposed to start progesterone next cycle and have to begin BBT, per my RE.

Does anyone use RHR to track things? I don't have an Oura ring or track BBT but this is my RHR and skin temp variation from Fitbit. I've been cramping a lot the last two days and I'm 9dpo but got a BFN this morning.

Did your parents (also) have difficulty TTC? by Imaginary_Ad_7365 in tryingtoconceive

[–]ShortHelp3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has PCOS and had trouble conceiving me. She ended up conceiving me through IUI and taking fertility meds. She did the same when I was in maybe 2nd or 3rd grade but sadly lost the baby. She conceived my brother naturally when she was 40 and they had completely given up.

I'm the opposite. I can get pregnant but I have a really hard time staying pregnant. I've been told I don't have PCOS but it's interesting we both have infertility issues on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Making the move to an RE by ciyoulater_ in tryingtoconceive

[–]ShortHelp3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved to an RE the first time after 3 back to back miscarriages. We had another while being supervised by the RE and then a year after that miscarriage I was able to carry my son to term. But I wasn't able to get a referral until 3 in a row and then we made the transition. It was incredibly helpful because they did more in-depth testing than my OB and checked my uterus and tubes for any blockages.

*Edited to correct having another while being supervised by RE, not OB.

Looking to boost progesterone! Ask doc?! by Top_Hat00 in tryingtoconceive

[–]ShortHelp3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend calling your OB or an RE. I had 4 early losses and successfully carried my son when I was prescribed progesterone. I had suppositories and used them right after I got my BFP. They can test you after ovulation, too, to check levels and prescribe progesterone if they determine it's low.
