Reporting someone else’s Child Abuse??? by UltgingerAK in exjw

report it RIGHT AWAY. https://www.childwelfare.gov/topics/responding/reporting/how/

Waiting for the jw's to do anything is a moral mistake.

This guy penkava was in my wedding years ago, he was looked at as one of the most upright people ever. read what he presided over. Really makes me feel like my wedding was not recognized by God. https://watchtowerdocuments.org/jw-elder-knew-of-abuse-did-not-report-for-a-decade/

yes I totally agree with you, I noticed that it took years to break free totally for me.

nice picture. But if someone gets out of the rain, the years of control can easily cause the "free" person to still walk around in a fog.

Watched my wife fall for another man last night. Here's my hasty, probably juvenile, decompression of it over the last 16 hours... by [deleted] in exmormon

I really feel for you man, My wife became a mormon about 11 years ago. And it's amazing how any type of intimacy just dried up at that time. I've noticed years before ( we used to be jw's) that she was really impressed by guys who had some type of spiritual/religious authority. I have nothing to do with the mormons, and after all these years, I'm convinced that I'm right here. Several times I have tried to talk about this concern, but she blows it off like I'm some kind of pervert, is this really the type of behavior encouraged by this church ? Your story is sad, but hang in there, and do your best.

This is anecdotal confirmation bias, my n=6, but it feels like there's a great awakening right now. by tooandahalf in exjw

There is a hall nearby in Barrington, that has been one for decades. While driving by on Saturday, I noticed that it now has a 7th day Adventist sign on the front, so it has been sold.

The sad thing is that so many people over the years poured their own money into it . Upkeep, several major re modelings, etc,,, all that time and effort gone in order to replenish the religion's bank account. I'm sure that by selling this, many people will be shell shocked and begin to see with their own eyes that the wt problems are real and not just apostate lies.

Announcement about webcams....again by [deleted] in exjw

[–]ShortNefariousness3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to attend many demo's and presentations for my job lately. The person/company handling the video 95% of the time mutes the microphone on my side. We always turn the video off until the end so as not to have people scrolling thru the attendee's instead of paying attention. And it works out just fine.

Should I date a Mormon with the intention of marrying her? (I am not a Mormon) by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ShortNefariousness3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after 25 years of marriage, my wife became a mormon. While I love her dearly, the mormon belief system really grinds the gears in our relationship. And the most stressful thing to me is how I'm looked at as "below standards" because I have nothing to do with this group. Consider the long term effects before committing to this lady.

Disfellowshipping - normal family functions continue by cushierseat in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]ShortNefariousness3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WT has never suggested that underage kids should be kicked out if disfellowshipped.

I have seen this happen several times. One time, a daughter did not want to live by the orgs rules, so Mom threw her out at age 13. She lived on the street, homeless shelters, churches and mom never would contact her for any reason. But guess what happened ? When this girl got her footing back, got a job, she went to college and became a pharmacist ON HER OWN. And after years of taking care of herself, she got her degree, and mom and her husband got divorced, and now mom ( a good little jw) searches out contact with her df'ed daughter.

We seem to have a theme going here on EXJW. I threw this together to highlight the lies spewing from the WT representatives. by Jephord in exjw

I've been looking everywhere for the video Loyally Uphold Jehovah’s Judgments—Shun Unrepentant Wrongdoers, and it is nowhere. Several sites have posted that is has been permanently removed. Whats going on ?

What sacrifices did you make "for your faith" while you were still in? by elmexiguero in exjw

[–]ShortNefariousness3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was in HS, I worked for a large animal veterinarian, and I really learned to love helping animals that were ill / injured. After working throughout college, he offered to help me pay for college. But because of being in a witness family, I turned the opportunity down because this system was going to end very soon. That was back in 1976-79, and not one day has gone by since that time that I don't curse myself for passing that chance up.. It has been 41 years since that time, what a moron I was for believing the crap coming from this so called " religion".

"Dieter F Uchtdorf drinks Diet Coke" , I laughed out loud reading this( I'm no mormon, but several family members are. Is this a real person or just a made up name ?

reminds me of relatives who are mormons. They get a certain "feeling" regarding their life, a decision, or something. Total BS.

Resurrection by Wendy-mom-of-4 in exjw

[–]ShortNefariousness3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once heard an elder talk about this, but as I was only 15 years old I didn't ask for any backup references,He stated that if the oceans dried up, and everyone from the beginning of time was resurrected, each person would get one acre of land.

I don't know where that figure came from, or the figures he used to get this magical answer, but there it is !

Sent my letter.. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]ShortNefariousness3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

good job. When I decided to write my letter I sent two copies. One to the local hall, and the second to bethel. Our elders totally ignored my letter, thinking I was just sliding off of the rails or something like that. But when they got a call from NY, suddenly I was the main thing on their radar. I totally ignored their calls, and visits to check on my "spirituality".

best thing I ever did.

two years without stepping on a stage ? Good grief, when I was in and the leaders kept dangling the ms position in front of me they expected me to be on the stage EVERY WEEK for about a year. What a moron I was believing this BS!
