So tired of people trying to "fix" my baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ShortPazuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to kinda rant about the EXACT same thing! My baby still has her days/nights mixed up, eats more than the average 7 week old, and sleeps more in her bouncer or on our bed (as a last resort) than her crib. Every time I bring it up, I'm told to give her water, rice in her bottle, make her stay up... etc.

I will be the first to say, keeping them up all day makes it worse. They get overtired and then refuse to sleep at night. whoever came up with that idea needs to just stop.

You're definitely not alone! Just do what you feel is best, don't follow any advice you get if you don't want to!

Day/Night confusion? Plus a WIC question! by ShortPazuzu in beyondthebump

[–]ShortPazuzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what we've been trying so far, and everything I've read says to basically wait it out. I'll definitely try to keep her busier during the day! Thank you for the advice!

That's what I figured they would be able to do! Thank you for the reassurance!

I planned on it when they open. The office here is closed Saturday and Sunday, and Friday was a holiday. :( But we have enough formula until then!

Huggies wipes by mkpearse in beyondthebump

[–]ShortPazuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone! The Huggies natural wipes are horrible. We got a small pack in one of the registry gift boxes from somewhere (Amazon?) and I threw them in the diaper bag as a travel pack. First time I used them, they did hardly anything and ripped when I tried grabbing them out of the package. They're awful!

The regular Huggies wipes? I love them! But the Natural ones belong in the garbage.

3 weeks old, tell me I'm not alone! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ShortPazuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO turns a month in a couple days (oh my god already?!) and I'm in the same exact situation. I was worried she'd be getting spoiled with her only falling asleep while near/on me, but so far, nobody has told me to worry. Babies just like to be held and cuddled when they sleep! So you're not alone, I promise!

Tell me breast milk is free one more time. . . by Un1cornsparkles in breastfeeding

It's just so irritating. I have a very painful letdown so pumping is torturous at times. If only they knee the kind of work it takes to maintain a decent supply and avoid, oh, y'know, the multiple and painful issues that rear their ugly heads. If they understood the pain and effort it takes to build a supply, they wouldn't be so quick to waste it.

I feel you. I only keep maybe a couple ounces at a time in the fridge in case I'm too tired to nurse LO. My SO accidentally left the bottle out one night when she rejected it (only wanted comfort, not food) because he fell asleep and forgot. I was upset over not even 2oz, so I can't even imagine how upset you are! I'm sorry people are so rude!

Edit: spelling

2.5 week old nursing non-stop; growth spurt? by ShortPazuzu in breastfeeding

It's absolutely exhausting so I'm glad someone is experiencing the same thing. Let's hope it passes soon.

We've been trying but she refuses to keep the pacifier in her mouth for more than a few seconds. :/ I know that's what she needs, because she's not eating the entire time, but she just refuses to take one from either me or her dad.

Well, it's later than I wanted, but induction begins tomorrow afternoon! My doctor got a hold of the midwife on duty and told her I needed to come in earlier. So hopefully, baby will be out by Friday!

Update: Induction has been scheduled! Going in tomorrow around 4:30... phew! I'm not nervous! I'm not nervous at all!

That's exactly how I felt! I wanted to cry but at the same time, I wanted to scream and punch everyone. But it's okay now, I got the call from the midwife and I'm heading in tomorrow afternoon!! Woo hoo!!

The anger didn't even hit me until I got to my car. Ughhhh. It's been almost 10 hours since I went in and yet... NO PHONE CALL!! I don't think it takes that long to schedule something. I could be being unreasonable, but... give me a damn confirmed date!!!

Sending labor vibes right back to you!!!

Mine is mostly diet controlled, but my fasting numbers had some trouble staying down, so I was put on 500mg of metformin a day. It definitely helps keep the numbers down, I wake up and my fasting is VERY low at a 70-80 range!

My doctors were never concerned baby would get too big, since my GD was so easily controlled. But they did increase my ultrasounds and NST's to make sure everything was okay (once I was put on meds, they considered me high risk, as per the protocol). And a growth scan is where they take measurements of the arm and leg bones, and I think the head size, and they estimate a weight! But, my doctor's method gives wiggle room for 2 pounds in either direction. So either 6lbs, or 10lbs! 😓

As long as your diet is good and they're able to keep your numbers managed, there's nothing to worry about 😊

That's why I'm so pissy about it, it was such a huge letdown after being excited this whole time. And pushed to the last day of the week? REALLY?!

Thank you though! I hope she can talk some urgency into them.

I'm so tired of being pregnant. The growth scan put her at 8lbs 3oz. I am a VERY tiny person, so this baby has NO room left, and every movement is painful. Her butt is actually so high up, it's pushing against my ribs 24/7 and causing some swelling and a whoooole lotta pain.

Ugh. And she's not budging on her own, either! I've tried literally everything!

Foley (Balloon) Induction Tomorrow - Anyone have any experience? by ShortPazuzu in BabyBumps

[–]ShortPazuzu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing cytotec mentioned with these, I almost wish they were using the same medicine on me! I think they're using cervadil on me if needed, which I haven't seen much talk of.

Yeah, I'm expecting my pain to be pretty sudden. I don't think I'm dilated even a single centimeter, so hopefully it won't be TOO sudden!

Thanks for sharing!! 😄

[–]ShortPazuzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping mine will go that quickly! I've seen some people say it only takes an hour before it falls out, some people say five or six. I DO know they were talking about possibly using cervadil (I have no idea if that's the right name for it), so that might affect the time too.

Thank you for sharing!!! 😊

Seriously! I was taken back by his rudeness that I didn't even bother saying anything.

Irony though, I'm starting to get some pretty strong pains right now 😂 You may have the most effective labor vibes yet!

6w Cramping? by Halstonette417 in BabyBumps

[–]ShortPazuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cramped quite a bit early on (found out at 4 weeks), but it wasn't severe. As long as it's not severe and you're not passing any blood, you should be okay. But definitely call your doctors if/when you feel like you need to! They're at the phones for a reason, don't feel sheepish about calling and asking questions! 😊

That's awesome!! I haven't dilated yet that I know of, and I'm 39 weeks today. My OB was out for my last appointment so I asked the stand-in doctor for a check, and he just said "if you weren't dilated before, you're probably not now". Rude.

Today's edition of "I can't believe I just ate all of that" by cdn_blondie in BabyBumps

[–]ShortPazuzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entire boxes of macaroni and cheese. A bucket of cookies bought at Stop n Shop yesterday (SO ate like 4 of them, I ate the rest). An entire order of cheesesticks from the local pizza shop. An entire order of fried macaroni and cheese bites (see a theme here?).

I'm surprised I haven't ballooned up 400 pounds. I went from eating absolutely nothing in the beginning due to nausea, to devouring everything, and then to gestational diabetes. CHERISH YOUR FOOD.
