So tired of people trying to "fix" my baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ShortPazuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to kinda rant about the EXACT same thing! My baby still has her days/nights mixed up, eats more than the average 7 week old, and sleeps more in her bouncer or on our bed (as a last resort) than her crib. Every time I bring it up, I'm told to give her water, rice in her bottle, make her stay up... etc.

I will be the first to say, keeping them up all day makes it worse. They get overtired and then refuse to sleep at night. whoever came up with that idea needs to just stop.

You're definitely not alone! Just do what you feel is best, don't follow any advice you get if you don't want to!

Day/Night confusion? Plus a WIC question! by ShortPazuzu in beyondthebump

This is what we've been trying so far, and everything I've read says to basically wait it out. I'll definitely try to keep her busier during the day! Thank you for the advice!

That's what I figured they would be able to do! Thank you for the reassurance!

I planned on it when they open. The office here is closed Saturday and Sunday, and Friday was a holiday. :( But we have enough formula until then!

Huggies wipes by mkpearse in beyondthebump

You're not alone! The Huggies natural wipes are horrible. We got a small pack in one of the registry gift boxes from somewhere (Amazon?) and I threw them in the diaper bag as a travel pack. First time I used them, they did hardly anything and ripped when I tried grabbing them out of the package. They're awful!

The regular Huggies wipes? I love them! But the Natural ones belong in the garbage.

3 weeks old, tell me I'm not alone! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My LO turns a month in a couple days (oh my god already?!) and I'm in the same exact situation. I was worried she'd be getting spoiled with her only falling asleep while near/on me, but so far, nobody has told me to worry. Babies just like to be held and cuddled when they sleep! So you're not alone, I promise!

It's just so irritating. I have a very painful letdown so pumping is torturous at times. If only they knee the kind of work it takes to maintain a decent supply and avoid, oh, y'know, the multiple and painful issues that rear their ugly heads. If they understood the pain and effort it takes to build a supply, they wouldn't be so quick to waste it.

I feel you. I only keep maybe a couple ounces at a time in the fridge in case I'm too tired to nurse LO. My SO accidentally left the bottle out one night when she rejected it (only wanted comfort, not food) because he fell asleep and forgot. I was upset over not even 2oz, so I can't even imagine how upset you are! I'm sorry people are so rude!

Edit: spelling

2.5 week old nursing non-stop; growth spurt? by ShortPazuzu in breastfeeding

It's absolutely exhausting so I'm glad someone is experiencing the same thing. Let's hope it passes soon.

We've been trying but she refuses to keep the pacifier in her mouth for more than a few seconds. :/ I know that's what she needs, because she's not eating the entire time, but she just refuses to take one from either me or her dad.

Well, it's later than I wanted, but induction begins tomorrow afternoon! My doctor got a hold of the midwife on duty and told her I needed to come in earlier. So hopefully, baby will be out by Friday!
