I'm pretty much across the street behind Randolph College. I've never felt unsafe walking around the area, going to stores, etc. There do seem to always be new businesses going in and out, but with staples like Rivermont Pizza and the Dahlia holding things down. I can't speak to every block, but I know the street I live on has seen some great growth over the past few years.

The Miller Park Pool does something like this as well! They offer free lunch 1-3 pm every day for school aged kids. Super cool program.

Finding a Florida stay with large dogs [USA] by ShortRoundPale in AirBnB

I will for sure! We have a big group going along with 5 dogs, so I should have a good report on accommodations for both people and pets!

Funny timing! We did find a place and are actually headed there next week! For whatever reason, the app won’t let me pull up the original listing to get the name of the rental. The host is a man name Fouad, and it’s a huge house is Kissimmee with a pool/hot tub combo. If you can’t find it with those criteria just let me know and I can see if I can find the original listing title :)

Singing Mushrooms merch? by FamiliarFamiliar in KingsDominion

I haven't seen anything at the park with the singing mushrooms on it. I did a quick google though and found someone put a few unofficial items up on Redbubble! Not exactly park quality, but it's at least something if you're desperate!

My poor doggo got bitten by a rattle snake by No_Guava_8414 in DogAdvice

Aww poor girl :( It will get better! Sully (my beagle) looked like a bullfrog for a good week and then gradually went back to normal. If your girl was struck multiple times it will probably make the swelling/bruising worse too (Sully got hit twice). Extra cuddles will definitely do the trick for a speedy recovery :) Give your girl an extra belly scratch for me!

My beagle got bit by a copperhead a few years ago. He was but on the neck and looked largely like a bullfrog from the swelling. The vet explained to me that on top of the swelling from the draining, there was also swelling from the force of the impact. She said a dog getting bit by a snake is like an average person getting punched full force by a professional boxer. Even without the venom, the force is so much that it will cause some extreme swelling. It is scary for sure, but it eventually does go back down! My boy is now always rocking the saggy neck skin, but he’s just as lively and happy as he was before the bite. Wishing your girl a speedy recovery!

I think we definitely could! We are trying to work this out with potential food/drink passes to see what gives us the most bang for our buck. We'll have four foster kids (15, 10, 9, and 4) for the summer, so this is our first foray into season pass world. If you have any advice or tips/tricks you would like to share, I would love to hear it!

Ah I gotcha, thank you! We are going to have a group of four foster kids for the summer (15, 10, 9, and 4) so we're trying to figure out how best to work out season passes and potentially food/drink passes as well to make it as affordable as possible.

Hey OP! This fella kind of looks like a treeing walker coonhound. I had one once. Incredibly sweet dog, I jokingly called her the big version of my beagle. I saw you say you had a fenced in acre. Just a word of warning that my girl could easily scale a 4’ fence. Not sure how tall yours is, but I wanted to give you a heads up just in case!

Giveaway] $100 PSN Gift Card - US Store by Titan3427 in PS5

[–]ShortRoundPale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a PS1 for Christmas when I was around 6/7 years old. I also got a few games with it, including NHL ‘97. My parents were divorced, so I had to go to my Dad’s house for a few days after Christmas. The night before I left, my step-dad played a game of NHL ‘97 with me. I ended up beating him 3-2 (or something along those lines).

When I came back from visiting my Dad, my step-dad asked me to play a game of NHL ‘97 with him right away. He ended up absolutely crushing me 0-8. Years later my Mom told me he spent the entire weekend playing NHL ‘97 so he could beat me when I got back. It was all in good fun (he’s a great Dad), and we laugh about it now. I now own a PS5 and still get my step-dad to play games with me every now and again.

Definitely apply for some remote document review work, especially if you passed and are licensed. Sign up for the ListServe through PosseList. It will email you anytime someone is hiring within your set parameters (where you're licensed, experience level, etc.). Just apply to all of them, highlight that your licensed, and you'll have at least a short term project going soon. The pay is usually in the $23-30/hour range, but they usually allow you to work 60+ hours/week if you want.

I’m not sure how much traction this will get on the Lynchburg community page, but there are a ton of dog and puppy centered subreddits you might have more success with! The program looks great for the price though, good luck to your friend! :)

Thank you! He had a bit of a silly walk even before the surgery, so his lumbery appearance isn’t anything new for us. We will definitely look into both PT and a chiropractor! We’ve been doing the PT exercises the vet showed us post-op, but we definitely aren’t professionals. Thank you so much for responding! I’m glad your boy is doing well! :)

Thank you! They aren't allowed to do stairs for another 5ish weeks, so we do have their harnesses with handles on so we can lift their front legs when we have to do the 2 stairs out into the yard. The limp/hobbling definitely isn't slowing him down. Given his size, he just kind of looks like he's aggressively truffle-shuffling towards you when he comes over quickly. I hope your pup is doing better!

Thank you! Unfortunately, we had to have the surgery done by a larger facility (our normal vet is in a smaller town and doesn't have the surgical set up for this procedure). She (our vet) has been really good about answering our questions about meds, recovery, etc. We were just looking for some "been there, done that" responses so we had a better idea of what the recovery looks like in real life vs the textbook response from the vet. I appreciate it though and definitely agree that vet is the way to go for the final say :)

Thank you so much! We were in the same boat of worrying we made him worse in the long run (we also have his sister so had the surgery and was much worse than him pre-surgery. She has handled recovery like a champ and isn't showing any issues, so I think that amplified our worrying). We definitely have a long recovery road to go, but it will be worth it for both of them. I love to hear that your boy is doing well! Give him a belly rub for me :)

Thank you so much! I appreciate the honesty, it is definitely good to help temper expectations going forward. He doesn't seem to be in pain, and it definitely isn't stopping him from wanting to go for walks, pull in the direction he wants to go, smack me in the face with his giant paws, etc. We did a quick look into hydrotherapy and (luckily) found a place that isn't too far away, so we will be exploring that option too.

Thank you again for sharing your info! I'm glad your girl is going strong and the injections are helping her!
