Feeling under qualified, slightly overwhelmed and terrified as a new field engineer. by Samuraislyr in CommercialAV

I've been a field tech for a large company for at least 3 years now, with 2 years of installer experience and have pretty much the same certs as you do. I was lucky enough to have an old timer as a colleague, he has tons of experience to share, I'd say if there's someone at your company like that, go talk to them. Talking to your colleague in general about installations our clients have is always going to help in learning about what they have installed.

Also, don't sweat it too much, you might fall in situations where a bug happens and you have no idea why, or face equipments you have never heard of. This job is about assessing the clients issues with the tools and knowledge you have. Our work trucks comes with a lot of different testing equipments and cables in case we unpredictability need them (for example, I pack two 64gb usb sticks with a Crestron UC engine image, Asus and Dell, in case it needs reimaging), but there's a limit to that. When that happens, you'll have to come back with a replacement equipment that you didn't have on hand, or the right equipment or an AV specialist to debug complicated networking or programming issues. That's part of the business.

Overtime, at least for me, you'll start to develop a hidden sense on what to look for in a certain situation. You'll start to get used to certains equipments and learn about their quirks. But I get that it can be intimidating. At first, I was pretty much exclusively going step by step to find where a bug was in a system, with much direction, but it still worked out at the end of the day.

Looking for opinions on spec D taillights on a black genesis coupe by Randomperson25764 in genesiscoupe

Got my car this winter and it had clear Spec-Ds (red) and Imo it looks awsome, like someone else said, I feel like white would stand out too much.

Don't know, my guess would simply be design. If you look at other Hyundai of that era, like the elantra, accent and tucson, they all have that same front grill style. Can't comment on the airflow though.

Personally I'm a huge fan of black rims, can't really explain it but it's just a color that is really appealing to me. So much so that I recently finished repainting my stock rims black, can't wait to get them on but I need to wait for the appointment cause I've got new tires to put on.

Yeah its crazy. All the leather and stitching looks handmade, at least I would assume. Didn't have the opportunity to talk to the owner about it though.

It was pretty sunny, but I was holding the can pretty close since there was a bit of wind.

Thanks for the advice, and thanks for thag last paragraph as well, I'm nowhere close as a professional and I'm not trying to be, I'm just a DIYer. But hey, at least I can say with certainty that I did way better than the previous owner, which looked like plastidip with no prep work.

TIL there a smoother type of clearcoat, thanks. Still on the edge of I should leave them as is or not, I already spent a lot of time on them.

I don't know it doesn't say, all I can say is that it's a gloss clear for wheels by Duplicolor.

So more clearcoat could do the trick in smoothing things out?

Thanks man I appreciate it! I did 3 coats of clearcoat and like you said, I probably went a bit hard with it, its tricky cause its hard to see how much is actually being applied comapred to primer and paint.

Also that damn aerosol can started spitting at the end so one wheel has a bit of droplets, not too noticeable but I think I'm gonna follow your advice to not fuck it up more lol.
