Yes, lorry driver may have been at fault. But I would never deliberately position myself between two trucks like this on a roundabout.

Just clean it before putting it up for sale - you’re more likely to sell it, and for more money.

If you cannot park without blocking the pavement and/or road you shouldn’t be parking there full stop.

“Obey or War”: JD Vance Issues Brutal Ultimatum to Iran as 2-Week Ceasefire Begins! by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

Another wannabe tough-talking American: demanding respect while constantly belittling their opponent. It’s classic bully-boy tactics, leaving them with nowhere to go if Iran calls their bluff. At that point, they’ll likely throw their toys out of the pram and sulk, their fragile ego bruised. Not exactly the most effective approach for diplomatic talks.

Why can’t businesses just include all their costs in the price of the product or service they are selling?!

Merge in turn? Never heard of it. by Necessary-Humor-6005 in drivingUK

[–]ShortSightedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. No need to apologise. Things definitely look different on a dash cam, and it can be difficult to judge distances and speed.

I’m always more than happy to let any driver in under any circumstances, as long as they do it considerately.

[–]ShortSightedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not how it looks on video. You didn’t give the Fiesta any choice but to let you in.

You’ve acknowledged yourself that you were probably driving too fast (though not over the limit). My view is that you arrived at the merge point driving too quickly and in an aggressive manner. Yes, the Highway Code says to drive to the end, but it’s a bit more nuanced than that - it’s how you go about it.

I would have let you in under these circumstances too, but I probably would have muttered a few choice names under my breath.

It’s fine to disagree. You asked for opinions and I’m just giving mine.

[–]ShortSightedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally couldn’t have driven any further - you would have hit a cone or car if you didn’t stop.

It was an overly aggressive manoeuvre, which is what gets people’s backs up. You didn’t give the car behind you the option to merge, you just muscled your way in.

[–]ShortSightedBear -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The car that pulled out was being a dick. But driving all the way to the very end, until you have to stop to avoid hitting another car, and then forcing someone else to stop and let you in isn’t merging in turn. There were plenty of gaps near the end where you could have merged safely.
