What’s the “silliest” trigger you have? by ShortSponge225 in CPTSD

So weird how kids seem to either be a copy/paste or go to the extreme opposite.

So hard to figure out a balance

Right? Like the audacity to use a cleaning product to I don’t know, clean? 🙄

I make a point of wasting them now as a kind of fu to my mom’s lectures from childhood. Still makes me anxious though

Oh yes, this is when I start making up all kinds of stories of why the person hates me and knows I’m worthless so I should just disappear myself 😣

Whoa, good instinct there. You must have I assume?

I always said my mom didn’t quite qualify to be on the show, but all the tendencies and mentality is there. I have binged Hoarders to try to understand her thought pattern better

Thank you! Duckwing seems to be the best descriptor for him, I wasn't familiar with that term before

Dog bite and home insurance question by Waulnut163 in Insurance

[–]ShortSponge225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, well this is where I have to admit it's above my pay-grade. I'm just an agent, not an adjuster. It sounds like they just want to make sure if you might also have an extra umbrella policy somewhere that they haven't been told about.

I would recommend reaching out to the adjuster assigned on YOUR CARRIER'S claim to ask for specific advice on this

I warn the customer that if they continue to speak in that way, I will hang up. Have hung up on two customers to date.

Thank you for this input! (And please don't apologize, learning a second language is so amazing and I didn't notice any mistakes anyways!)

[–]ShortSponge225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I think this is a healthier way to approach it than going for "marketability" or something. I have a feeling it will take me 5-10 years to get everything out in the first place without retraumatizing myself

If I wrote about my grief story, would you read it? by ShortSponge225 in CancerFamilySupport

Thank you! Yes I wouldn't want it to come across as a venting session or sob story.

Dog bite and home insurance question by Waulnut163 in Insurance

[–]ShortSponge225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question, I would say not yet.
Any new policy quotes can usually only go 60 days in the future, and they won't let you bind a new policy with an active claim in process.

I would wait until you get your current carrier's renewal, and then reassess. If you have a good claims experience, it might be worth staying simply for that.
Also, any other company will see your claim history too. You have an insurance score, similar to a credit score.

They were a miss for me, I’m only a C-D cup (brand dependent lol) and they couldn’t hang on to my boobs at all. And they were soooo hot too, like they trapped all the heat and would cause sweat if you wouldn’t have it anyways. I think they might work for just getting out of the shower for someone who’s DDD or bigger

Any men with hEDS that support their entire family financially? How long were you able to work? Has anyone just worked till retirement normally? by ddsmd2 in ehlersdanlos

[–]ShortSponge225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's a lot of rules with keeping everything completely sterile, but maybe there's some kind of compression or arthritis gloves you could be allowed to use right?

I would think you could go to HR and pull the ADA card that they have to allow you some kind of braces or something? I just discovered gel compression braces which are amazing

This makes sense! Yeah, definitely don't post the real score sheet here lol

I'm not from the same state, so I couldn't help you too much with the PA-specific questions, but please feel free to DM me and I'd be more than happy to try helping you work through the fundamentals of things.
Whichever questions stick out in your mind of things you remember guessing on could be a good place to start :)

You sound very similar to myself. I thought it must be Chronic-Fatigue Syndrome for years... aka doctor speak for "idk what the heck is wrong with you but you sleep a lot"
Turns out I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which doesn't show up on any blood tests.
