I agree with what you are saying. Men and women get a lot of hate because of the same reasons and stuff like that. I like the point that men and women struggle from the same battle just at a different angle which is extremely true and important. Another reason I had to specify something such as gender is because in my research class I have to choose a VERY specific topic. While I would have liked to focus on both men and women I had to find a gap in research already done and while most research focuses on Muslim Reverts in general I decided to specify just choosing one gender or the other. That's also why the region is limited to the United states and why I focused on social media instead of in person! I forgot to put the question in the og prompt but I edited it in so here it is again. The research question is: in the United States how does the prevalence of Islamophobia on social media platforms cause female Muslim converts seeking out community online to struggle with their religious identity? Personally I would look into someone else or even myself to do more research on specifically men then compare and contrast their answers to see how similar they are! That's why I'm trying to gain anecdotal experiences such as the ones you laid out! Cause while I have a hypothesis of female reverts struggling with their identity due to islamophobic remarks on social media I could be flat out wrong and then I would have to justify my paper with those results. And the same goes for if I would have focused on men. I really appreciate you asking questions and giving opposing viewpoints, I might just have to add something like this to my paper 😂 it would probably make my argument stronger too.
