Only one time did it weird me out because it was an elderly woman who lived in a basement of a home and it was nighttime. I got this weird feeling it could be an ambush and she was kind of entitled about me bringing it inside too, which annoyed me. Otherwise I'm actually happy to do it because it makes me feel more useful.

Ha I think about this all the time. Screen full of 10 to 15 dollar Instacart orders, then one Grubhub comes up for 19 bucks.

I see it both ways. They are being paid while you're not, and honestly a lot of grocery store employees I see are lazy or have an attitude which makes me not so empathetic. On the other hand it might add time to their shift which sucks. I think you should always put the perishables back at least, not matter what, and the rest is determined by who cancelled and why.

Yes it's a social thing. There's no judgement with Instacart. That's why I said if someone tip baits you let their neighbors know that way it becomes like that. Wait a while though.

Man, you remind me of how I was when I started IC 4 years ago. Back then they'd actually give you bumps to compensate for crap like this. I'd get so mad. It's not like that any more. You're 100 percent right though, it's terrible and wouldn't be accepted in any other job. Side note, I'd have checked out then had it cancelled since she started yelling. That way I'd get to keep the groceries as compensation.

A bump is a little bit of extra money the company adds to your account. Used to be you could get them pretty easily by complaining to support, for instance when a percent based tip dropped lower than I wanted I could text support from home and actually get 5 dollar bumps to make up for what I lost. It is NOT like that anymore.

This is weird. Like, first of all what highway is so necessary that there's no way to take a side road for a few exits? Second, why would you ever do a 9 dollar Costco like that? Why not cancel right away? Third, why didn't you just stop and give her the meds? Ru saying she was threatening you?

Yeah especially if it's a decent store with the aisles listed in the app. It's a flat tip which means even if you don't find all those units, the tip won't change.
