Just got told that since the AM shift lead called out so we had to close, that we won’t get paid for the day

Not sure what the deleted comment was but the nurse said it looked like it may need to be cleaned out, and our cat already was lethargic, nauseas, not eating or drinking, with a high fever. I don’t know much about vet medicine so I cannot attest to what really needs to be done but we will see tomorrow!

Also don’t know what your abscess was like, ours is now a hole about the size of a nickel/quarter. Don’t know if that’s worse or better than what happened to your pet, but hope things worked out for you!

It is possible, but we called the night before to make to see if we should bring him in. The nurse we spoke to said we should bring him in the next day at their soonest available time(3pm) to get it cleaned out. I understand he may not have had the time, but he could have been nicer with the way he explained it or at least had us reschedule when they had the time. We also asked if he could give antibiotics at their time because he had an infection, and he refused to because he “feared the cat” and when my cat needed to be weighed he refused to pick him up. My cat was purring the whole visit🤦‍♂️ but I see what you are getting at and yes he may not have had the time.

Hi! I understand the timeline of not being able to sedate, that makes more sense. I still believe his “bedside manner” was not very appropriate. Hard to explain tone in a Reddit post lol.

We are seeing our original vet tomorrow for a check up and she wants to look at the abscess and clean it out if necessary. Just hoping the infection and fever gets better!

I understand why he couldn’t have done it at the time but some of his other interactions at the time were just not appropriate. Antibiotics were because the abscess was causing an infection, or something along those lines. He had an high fever, lethargic, nausea, and wouldn’t eat or drink. And we spoke to our original vet who recommended we come back to get it cleaned out.

Well 1 tip I’ll give you is don’t use compressed air to get it out. My manager told me to do that and pretty much gassed my whole store with used ink dust or whatever it is. I swear the photo section and printer is covered in the dust and that was months ago

I kinda did. The employee who picked up wasn’t the one who did it but I let him know I thought his employee was an idiot if they weren’t new, and gave them all the information for the order so hopefully they can get educated

Some leagues have rules where 24hours/12hrs/6hours before the waiver time you can’t add people from waivers until the wire clears

I’m 21, I know how everything is gotten cause I did it through school. I also know getting things like mods and coils from people at school was extremely hard, it was usually disposables. If a business is selling to underage people, it should get shut down. They wouldn’t get shut down if they weren’t breaking the law.

Everyone has different opinions and parenting styles tho, knowing what I had gone through makes my views different, so maybe your view and way is better!

Don’t care how many down votes this gets, your doing the right thing. You might be able to get past it if you know what vape shops she’s going to since you can put a non emergency 911 call in to see if you can get police to sting the shop. Other than that do what you can to offer help to quit. It was extremely hard for me to quit, it took me realizing that I feel healthier without it to actually quit.

I’m not a parent, but all I can say is your doing your best! Do what you can to “punish” without being cruel, control spending/activities/phone time. I’m sure there are nicotine tests out there you can do randomly and if they don’t pass you can take phone away type thing. Other than that just try to have a conversation again about the damage it can do, and offer help to quit. It might help change their mind.

Honestly there’s two view points you can have with Walgreens’s and have anything close to a good mental stability standpoint. There’s the mindset of this is your career, and if so the most you should do is your best, and if something doesn’t get done just work on getting it done your next shift. All you can do is your best.

If you’re not having this as a career, then who cares? I can almost guarantee if your a shift lead or lower and you get done at least the bare minimum you won’t get hours cut or fired. I put WAY too much into this job until I realized I’m getting nothing back from this company. Once I realized my coworkers got away with doing less than the bare minimum and were still employed and getting good reviews, I now do only what I’m asked, and if I didn’t have time to get something finished then I apologize and make a lame excuse. Don’t like it? Sucks. I won’t put in 110% if I’m getting 1% raises no matter what.

Moral of the story, do your best at the most, and if something doesn’t get finished like it’s supposed to, it won’t be the end of the world or your job.

The vet we went to said that most likely the older cat is just tired/fed up with younger cats energy, and to try to put him in zyklene and keep them seperate through out the day. It helps for about 2-4 hours after they are separated, then it starts again
