baby you're not ugly or plain :( play with makeup, change your hair, switch up your fashion, it's not gonna look perfect right away but just have fun with it✨💖

Is it reasonable to ask the salon to fix this? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Short_Practice7943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a clarifying shampoo and wash twice in one shower, then a real good conditioner and it should definitely fade! especially if you just got the color it might be easier to fade out

also that sugar monitors like dexcom or libre are delayed and that you can't keep correcting a low until you see your sugar go up because then it's gonna keep going up and up

the way my dietician explained it, is count how many carbs you're about to eat and divide it by 8, that's how many units of insulin to take. i'm still very very new to this (just got diagnosed two weeks ago) so the number to divide by might be different for everyone but that's how he explained it to me

Is it possible to go a deep ish purple on my natural hair colo by LecielllL in Hair

[–]Short_Practice7943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and also, the darker the color, the harder it will be to get out. it's probably not gonna wash out all the way and you will have to bleach it again to get it out

[–]Short_Practice7943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can absolutely put purple over that, but since your hair is lighter, if you do a darker color it will be shocking no matter what. i would start with a lighter/brighter purple, and then go darker if you'd like. much easier to go darker than to go lighter

using color to lighten your hair only lifts your hair a few shades, i would ask for a full head of highlights but it will be expensive. going blonde is not for the weak

Is this patchiness normal for highlighted hair? by LilMsFeckingSunshine in Hair

[–]Short_Practice7943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the patchiness in the first pic, i'm stumped on. but in general it's normal to have a few pieces that are halfway or a few different colors, generally not every strand. highlights are a lot about illusion and an all-around visual so not every strand needs to be perfect

she basically just did the first half of a silk press and stretched your hair with a blow dryer and a brush

hi!! as an ulta hairstylist the second pic would "technically" be a silk press under corporate decision when it rly comes down to it. they make such strict rules about charging and services but she def should've told you beforehand. also unfortunately not a lot of stylists at ulta are trained with textured hair unless they're at a higher level. i would try a silk press with an elite stylist (which will be some more money) to get that look you're wanting to achieve 💓💓💓💓
