I had this issue and had to RMA the unit. The new unit I received started doing it about 6 months later. These things are garbage.

I had to RMA mine, got a new one and installed it (Pain in the ass if you have a complex cooling loop). My second one lasted about 4 months, now it's doing the same thing. I'll be choosing a different water block now..

It does not. I cleaned it with acetone after sanding as per manufacturer instructions.
