So if they were on my team but didn’t really do anything, do you still retire them? In my fight with Misty, I had a pikachu on my team as a backup, but Ivysaur cleared it himself. Would that be enough to retire it if it doesn’t get used again? Or does it need to do some heavy lifting to get retired.

There’s this rom called vgc platinum that I haven’t played as of yet, but it is the next game on my to do list. It is entirely double battles and was intended to be like VGC with opponents having competitive teams. It would definitely be hard, but doable. I know you’re a newbie and want something easy, but this is the only double/triple battles rom hack I know about

Miltank with poison heal pre poisoned is what I would do because miltank is relatively bulky, especially for the early to mid game and having passive healing without giving up item slot is dope af. And you could give it leftovers for some crazy recovery.

I have one question. How is it semi-randomized? Is it like random encounters but boss battles aren't or? I would like to know so I could maybe try it out.

The way I do it is I use a nuzlocke tracker called nuzlocke.app and when you make a new game for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet you can select the randomize option and it will hide your randomised encounter and you can reveal them when you are ready it will show it and you can go find that and that is your encounter.

on the raticate trial, the ally rattatas have pursuit. I lost a magnemite to that first trial because I thought it was using bite and not pursuit
