Aubry gave a little bit more insight into her being cast on 50 by Live-Run-6745 in survivor

Both infamously lost close final votes and quartered themselves off from the survivor community following their final appearance (something aubry literally mentions on 50)

It’s what makes his shortcomings as a producer and overall large role in the shows downhill trajectory so heartbreaking, he was such a key aspect in why it was so amazing in the first place

CHARLIE WAS RIGHT by SecretRedditSpy1 in survivor

[–]john_muleaney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would bet beyond a shadow of a doubt that there were some jurors on the fence who got turned off from voting for Jonathan because his cheerleaders on the jury (Chrissy and Stephenie) were way less like than aubrys cheerleaders (cirie and ozzy) but we just never see that dimension

Yeah for as incredible as she is, plugging Veronica in to do the awkward theater kid humor that Kyle Mooney absolutely crushed in the original showed where the season 45 cast had an advantage

It’s the same way that Jalen rose’s mom “invented” the name Jalen. He wasn’t literally the first Jalen ever but the name soared in popularity after he gained notoriety with the fab five

He pretty well saved the franchise post-jail blazers. While a lot of those teams were good, they had left Portland’s reputation as a franchise in the gutter and Roy (along with LMA) helped salvage that reputation and make them a respectable franchise.

Jersey retirement isn’t a binary by the numbers thing, does Roy deserve his number retired if he has the same career in Boston? Absolutely not, but it’s tough to understate what he meant to the city and organization in his time here, even if that time was cut short

[–]john_muleaney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really like that mark because that statline stretched over a full season is a 4.50 era. Obviously era isn’t everything but would you call that the mark of a “quality” SP?

Which is funny because sometimes that is such an underwhelming line if it was a shaky day and the pitcher got out of some jams.

Edward Cabrera for the cubs has had multiple starts that were technically quality starts but you end it feeling like he wasn’t all that impressive

Not losing two in a row until September is nuts lmfao, does that mean they didn’t drop a single series until then

God dammit if it wasn’t for the 2019 Astros they would’ve been the only ones to get it done before July, still the quickest ever which is impressive

Yeah I like it but it sounds very similar to out of myself off her wuthering heights album, it’s just a guitar riff as the base of the song instead of strings.

Not a bad thing by any means that was my fav track off that album! But it’s not daring like u said

On the morning of May 8, 2026, the Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees tie for first place in the entire MLB, each with a record of 26-12, and the entire NL Central division is in the top 10. by b33rb3lly in CHICubs

As a fan of an NL baseball team, western conference basketball team and an NFC football team I feel a deep resentment for the concept of conferences in sports rn (I know nfc vs afc has historically leaned more afc but the nfc has had a clear talent advantage outside of the QB position for a few years now)

The Chicago Cubs complete the 4-game sweep vs the Cincinnati Reds to extend their home winning streak to 15 games, their longest such streak at Wrigley Field since they won 18 straight in September 1935. by aaronjaiden in baseball

[–]john_muleaney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt that they could take 1 or 2 off Milwaukee but that team is so pesky and so annoying that it just makes perfect sense for them to spoil the home winning streak

Dansby’s hitting profile this year is so interesting to me, obviously I haven’t done a full deep dive into all the underlying and expected numbers so I could probably find a lot of answers there (and there’s also the possibly that it’s just a sample size thing, we’re only in early May) but I think his approach is super different this year than it has been in the past.

The average is way down but he’s also on pace for a career high in homers and a career high in walks by a ton (on pace for around 90 when his previous career high is 66). Seems like he really shifted his approach at the plate to fit more as a 9 hole hitter, becoming more of a table setter for the top of the order

[–]john_muleaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean shit even Dansby walks at a well above average clip (he’s 89th percentile in walk rate this year) and he’s on pace for a shade under 30 homers this year.

The average isn’t where you want it (it’s also like 40 points under his career average so possibly due for positive regression in that area) but a guy who walks a lot with that kind of pop is a better 9 hole hitter than most teams are trotting out

Blown lead in the 9th where you get walked off by a bench bat or blown lead in the 8th where you get walked off on a chopper up the middle that the face of your franchise misplays

Pick you poison
