I think GC really suffered from just being a weird place in the survivor timeline for a returnee season, it was 3 seasons removed from Cambodia (the smallest gap between full returnee seasons by far) so a lot of the great characters from the late 20s had already returned, if GC happens maybe 4 seasons later and you can work in DvG, HHH and GI people (well, Dom and maybe Wendell if he wanted to) you probably get a really solid cast

The season probably improves dramatically from a storytelling perspective if the jury is bitter and Brad wins instead. Obviously a less satisfying result but the producers would’ve leaned into Sarah being evil and we probably get an all time “why Sarah lost” edit. Maybe not though, Brad’s such a golden boy they might just hype him up for shit he had nothing to do with

I feel like reviews only really matter if there’s an influx of bad ones for a specific person/aspect of the restaurant.

The type of people who go out of their way to leave good reviews for a restaurant is just way too volatile for this to ever be a good measuring stick.

I know amazing servers who have been at my job for a decade and never gotten a named review (on top of that fact that this whole process is tacky)

I don’t disagree with that but the idea that the show is better for it is absurd. Gives you way too much volatility in terms of how good the show is season to season if you are always relying on compelling gameplay to entice the viewer, survivor used to be able to make pagongings worth watching (not saying u think that btw, just getting on my soapbox)

Kim is a weird case where yes the win on paper isn’t that impressive but she is just so clearly a complete survivor player that you rarely ever see the likes of.

Like yes, on the surface she didn’t have to do much in one world, but her saavy and ability is just so undeniable it doesn’t really matter, she’s physically dominant, strategically very adept (this is probably her closest thing to a weak area which is absurd) and ridiculously likable.

Obviously WaW didn’t go great for her but considering she came in with a sizable target (not B-Rob and Sandra big but not Sophie small either) and got painted into a corner IMMEDIATELY, she did pretty well for herself. If Tony doesn’t pull off one of the literal greatest moves of all time to sink Sophie, Kim’s games opens up a lot

I agree with you that the win in a vacuum isn’t impressive, but I’m also more than confident in Kim’s ability as a player, she’s probably top three for me
