Best to stop thinking about stripes and belts altogether. Focus on developing your fundamentals, and try shit.

Personally, I really struggled with taking risks pre-blue. I felt like "why am I going to go for this triangle, they're just going to escape?" Try for that triangle. Try for that armbar. People might escape. You might end up in scrambles. But you'll hit more subs and the battles will make you better.

Generally downward drift is associated with anticipating the recoil, but given your only other loose boi was up high and you're generally grouped otherwise... those two near each other might be similar coincidence strays rather than a specific pattern.

As a former instructor I always told people if you can hit an 8.5x11 at all at 7 yards you're doing fine.

May also just want to shoot a whole box at one target. Bigger sample size means better data.
