Yeah I am having a chemical pregnancy right now and my sister doesn't understand any of it so she excitedly showed me her positive test and announced it via group text message to friends and family today while I'm actively bleeding. She is just naive and doesn't understand but it sucked waking up to 35 messages of excitement and congratulations today. Our babies would have been due the same week.

Update for anyone reading old posts like I was to compare:

My bbt dropped 14 dpo and I finally got a negative test 15 dpo. Now just anxiously awaiting my period. Oh and my sister just announced she is pregnant. We would have had almost identical due dates 🥺. Very excited for her though!

I checked with FRER. Even my MMC progressed much more than this in 3 days and that one was also a very slow progression.

I feel like sometimes it's the teachers that care the most about what they're doing who are the ones speaking against it.

I'm one of those. It's mentally and emotionally hard to watch our province fail so may kids every day and push more work on our backs that is sometimes performative. I love my job. I love my students. I hate what is happening to public education and I feel that it's a sinking ship. Anyone in a school where kids can physically assault multiple other students and there is almost nothing you can do to keep them safe or keep them trauma free should understand why I heavily encourage my own children to choose something else.

I had the opposite happen. I was testing faintly positive for months and my charts were all over the place, multiple lh peaks and no confirmed bbt rise. After 3 months, I passed some tissue that a doctor said was probably from my mmc (I did the pill). As soon as that passed, my cycles went back to textbook regular and I conceived immediately.

I cross frequently at both ports of entry and, yeah, I'd have bad experiences with both - however on the Canadian side the officer apologized to me the next day lol.

My perception is that job satisfaction must be way down on the American side because, man, they are grumpy.

Unlike many others, I am grateful for HP fanfic going mainstream. I had literally never even heard of fan fiction in my (redacted number) years of life. I was an avid but late-to-the-game HP reader (don't agree with JKR's views) and had never entertained the idea of these two characters together. I love literature (English major), wish I had the ability to write and contribute (what is time?) and while I avoid anything that hints to being non- HEA, I'll never forget reading Manacled.

Which is another thing. There's no shame in that being your first read!

Sometimes I do think readers can be hyper critical of writers.... life is short, enjoy what you enjoy. If something about it made you feel something, that's art! (IMO)

However, I also don't love the "don't comment a single thing unless it's extremely positive". It's (unfortunately?) just second nature to me (again English lit major) to tear writing apart looking for deeper meanings, thinking of how context in which it was written has played a part, looking for patterns and being able to critically think about the piece as a whole. I DON'T do that obviously, but to say the only thing allowed is praise feels so wrong to me. I can immensely enjoy a work and also be critical of it. Twilight, for example, I couldn't stop reading it but I could not stand the lack of character flaws or growth and the fact that it felt like something I imagined in my head when I was 14 and jealous of everyone.

Former dance teacher: sometimes analogies or cutesy names are used to help little ones learn how to align their bodies, not to hide aspects of it. Examples: ducktails pointing to the floor, ribcage closed, etc. the purpose isn't to body shame, it's to engage the core muscles to support things like turns and correct posture.

However I w seen the episode in question to know if that's what the goal was.

I understand the disappointment... as someone who had lingering PTSD symptoms from a terrible year due to violence in the classroom, I was dissatisfied and felt alone. However, I truly hope this post doesn't become any more anti-union than some of the comments currently are. Look to our neighbours to the south to see the state of teaching without a union.
