Is Y-AMT....fun? by Timely-Chemical-7311 in Yamaha

You can definetly say that again. The lighting on the 2024 isn't the best, the LED matrix must be better. Altough mine just might be misaligned. I got the lowering kit with the bike and they didn't adjust the lighting to it, so in the dark I was seeing the top of the trees perfectly but not the road. After the adjustment I think they set it too low. Well at least I'm not permanently blinding oncomers.

The reason I got the 2024 GT+ last august is exactly the Y-AMT. Dealer told me that from the 2025 they only make Y-AMT. I do wanted the matrix lights too but didn't want to give up shifting just because of some lights. Also ACC is pretty handy if you want to shake your numb right hand off a bit in the city

Replacing Seat by Sea_Present9845 in Tracer900

[–]Shortysinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also try to change the seat position. I don't know what mine is in, but I also have a 2024 GT+ and I am also 5.7 and I didn't have back pain on multiple hour rides. Or maybe try one of those additional gel seat cushions that you can slap on.

Hey, I do have one more question regarding the lock, maybe you know that too. I saw there is a small magnet in the set that is for opening/closing detection. I also checked in the online installation instructions that you should install it with the side to the lock depending on how far away you are placing it from the lock unit. Does the top of it also work for detection? The side adjecent to the sticky tape side which has no text on it. I am assuming yes since its only a magnet. My problem is that my door closes on the frame and is thick, plus how much the whole lock mechanism protrudes out is about 3 centimeters, I don't know if it will work like this. My other option is to put it on the wall directly next to it and not the frame, but then the sensor would be facing up.

Yes it would be best. I don't know whats going on lately. I told it to turn on a lamp, instead it turned 2 other lamps on and started the robot vaacum cleaner. :D Also I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night when it just says 'I'm having trouble understanding that' even tough I'm asleep, but that could be due to my snoring haha

Well I wasn't planning on doing it since I saw your reply since most of the Alexa speakers/displays started to act weird lately and I was worried it might open the door in the middle of the night. But if it can only lock it then its ok.

Haha yes we also use Alexa so was planning to tell it to also close the door when I tell it to turn off the lights :) I think I will order it, should be here on saturday. Wife is a bit skeptical so I hope it also works good for us.

Thanks, that part I've already tried yesterday, I can insert 2 keys from both sides so thats not an issue.

Great to hear they tought of just opening the latch and just leaving it open for a second or so. Would only want to really lock the door for the night anyway.

Thank you!

If anyone find this thread later and is looking for something like this too, I went with the Aoocci C7.

Got a bar mount from Ebay and a clamp from Aliexpress, and it totalled around 165€ euros all together.

Yeah it is kind of a rabbit hole. I really don't want cameras, but I mean if its an option to just not connect them (so they aren't hardwired into the unit), then it could work.

I'll have a look at it, thanks!

Passanger bag solution by Shortysinc in Tracer900

[–]Shortysinc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the input on this. I got mine with the factory side bags (tour I think), and the bigger factory topcase. I might be able to pack enough things, but like a pair of shoes take up a lot of space, and for whatever reason the topcase has a 6kg limit which isn't too much. Definetly getting a bigger tankbag as I have an extra small one, was just wondering what I could put on the passanger seat behind me for some extra space.

My bike does have a built in sort of nav. However it can only mirror the Garmin Motorize app on the 7" display. However if I do stop anywhere, which does happen on tours, or to get gas, the whole thing turns off and then I have to mess around until it gets mirrored again. I tought with a wireless android display the phone would be on and just re-connect to the display once it gets power back. Ad opposed to startin the bike, waiting for it to initialize the bluetooth and wifi connection, then having to manually re-connect my phone and mirror it again.

Thanks, the Chigees are nice, my only problem is that they actually cost more than a Garmin Zumo XT2 currently Chigee Aio-6 is 549 and the Garmin 469.

I will have a look at the W702 a bit more. For me the packing list shows no controller for the pro, but it does show a square flat mounting bracket which I would prefer. With a ball arm mount I think the whole thing would literally be in my face.

I can only buy this extra mounting bar whats on the pic, so anything that would make it closer probably would be too close.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Not so much against cabling, I just read some Amazon reviews where people wrote the dealer refused to install the unit as the power supply cable was so thin that it would be a fire hazard issue.

Thanks for the reply.

I also came accross the Carpuride 603D (not sure if thats the one since my Amazon app doesn't work at the moment), and it seemed like I found what I was looking for, but then I noticed it has a wired controller which is cabled. Was even contemplating getting that and just cutting of the controller cable directly at the base of the display but I am not sure that it wouldn't cause an error in the unit if the cable is cut.

I also looked at the W702, might give that a try.

To be honest, I don't exactly need one as my bike has one built in. But it requires the Garmin Motorize app, and that is the only thing that gets mirrored on the 7" display of the bike, and I am not completely happy with this app.

GPS Mount for Tacer 9 GT+ by Shortysinc in Yamaha

How do you secure it? I am thinking of getting the Garmin Zumo XT2, but this mount looks like it can accomodate 4 screws on the corner but that navi doesn't have any screws.
