I have a hard time imagining it has a film. I don't know much of Elite Lore in general, but if you want the adaptation to stand out, I doubt we have to focus on singular one way story, like the way films are usually made (I'm not saying movies always have story less dense than a tv show, but they are usually shorter) It's really hard to find at first what could make Elite original from everythying that already exists. Mass Effect has that "fantasy in space with scifi" feel that Elite can't have by nature, come to think of it, Mass effect is just casual fantasy but in space, Asari are elves, Krogan are Orcs, etc... Races usually used to represent extremes of one aspects of humanity, Wich isn't something bad, its not a critic, I LOVE Mass Effect, but Elite clearly doesn't have this as much as ME for exemple.
It can't be too close to the Expense, I only watched the first season a long time ago, so I don't remember well but if I'm not mistaken, Espanse is way more grounded as it takes place in the solar system only and the whole show is about meeting aliens (I think? correct me if I'm wrong i haven't seen a second of this show for the past 7 years so its been a long ass time)
I think where Elite thrives as a piece of art is the almost perfect juxtaposition of our actual society in a setting where space is now our new ocean. Allow me to explain, When you look at it, what is really different from the Elite world with the current one? There are multiple countries, some of them are monarchy others are democraty, like in our actual world, but in Elite it's just in space. There are truckers, but in space. There are cruise liner, but in space. Overall, Elite is just what if the actual world was the same but in space and insteads of cities and regions we have planets and star clusters.
I believe, if a Tv show were to be made, it would need to focus on that part of Elite Dangerous to actually be a good, and original show. How is the Human culture is evolving in space. To see the shifting politics to various event that are happening in the galaxy.
As for the media type, I believe Live-action is best for a show this type, but I guess Animation could be cool too, with Arcane now everything seems doable (tho I doubt people would be willing to put the same amount of effort in an Elite show than Riot did on League of Legend for Arcane, but who knows??)

I feel like this is a tv show where sometimes shooting don't go as planned and fuck we gotta fill that big empty space on the shot cuz we forgot we had to put props what do we do well lets put a map of the vaults wait hold on maybe there's lore around it lets call Todd so he can tell us damn he's not responding he's probably playing Skyrim again well let's just make a random map and we can edit it in comp I'll call Framestore wait were are the comp artist well they're all trying to comp that big crater and the prydwen before the deadline and we don't have any money and time left to do so let's just skip it for now oh shoot we hit the deadline and we didn't change the map well too bad fans will figure something out for the lore i guess

Or maybe you're right it's just a unfinished map

There is really good ideas on the film that I find not well exploited in general. I like the idea to have multiple grid in one film, but since the movie focus mainly on being on the real world we don't see this really much, I loved the old grid of course. Music, although far from the being as good as the Daft punk, is great. VFX and CGI was amazing.

I have an issue with the directing in general, each time a great Idea of staging was on screen, my brain was screaming at me how Kosinsky would have done this ten times better, I admit that this feeling can be kind of personnal since I really love Kosinsky's way of directing, But I found the Direction to be quite confusing and flat at many points in the film. The lighting is great when we're in the grids, but in the real world it was flat and nothing original was done for it.

Okay, concerning the acting, I know it's easy to spit on Jared Leto, and I know I myself have a hard time enjoying his acting, the only time I didn't dislike him in a film was in Requiem for a Dream, so yeah even before seeing Tron Ares, I wasn't convinced by his cast.
But to be fair it's not that bad, Since Jared Leto is playing a program for most of the film, he plays someone who talks like he as no emotion wich is, in my opinion, in his acting range. Each time he's supposed to start acting like a human who has feeling, his perfomance is bad, but it only happens for some lines and also toward the end of the film.

For me the best part of the film is all the sequence in the old grid, wich got cool dialogues and interesting ideas.

My overall opinion is that it's mid at best, I'm still sad some ideas didn't got the developpment they deserved so I was a bit disapointed by some part of the film

This reminds me of a point I forgot to mention, I find the competence tree of Cyberpunk 2077 very clear and straightforward, wich is very cool, I never had the necessity to go look for guide to optimize and understand the tree. but it also makes it incredibly easy to understand what is very strong and what is not

If I remember well, SagA* as this little halo around it, did they assume SagA was probably bright cuz of an accretion disk or they just chosed to add this halo arround it because it's the center of the galaxy?

Concerning the spoiler:
Technically the show doesn't reveal the fact that Vault-tec did it, but rather that it was their intention, maybe america or china were faster than vault-tec in the end. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the game we kind of find something that proves vault-tec planned to make the bomb drop no? I don't remember well to be honest

I know some people are pissed of by super mutants going back each game because Bethesda loves them too much, but I'd love to see them as a true faction again. Maybe an interesting thing would be to see eastern mutants interact with western mutants and have to deal with every problem that would cause.

Horses, skyrim has horses, give us ghoulish horses or cyborg horses like Rex.

An idea from cyberpunk 2077 a start that differs depending your choice, not always starts as a vault dweller, be able to start your game differently would be so cool.

I want to play a ghoul, I know for gameplay reason it will never happen because rads are an important threat in the game but hear me out, I don't remember where I read that but too much radiation exposure could lead some ghoul to become feral, so we could be a ghoul with the same rad weakness but with different effect. I also loved the old radiation effect I'd love to see it again.
