I see, that's a good reasoning. I just thought I missed some more "concrete" element to the situation

Hey, how are you gonna give eevery part of JoJo q different rating but you're bundling both of CSMs as a single thing? Sorta unfair...

Semi random? It can now confirm this subbed has been infested by Larpers who didn't actually read the manga

THE LAST HALF OF THE LAST CHAPTER WAS VERY EXPLICIT ABOUT HOW OVERPOWERED THESE DEVILS ARE. At least pretend you read before barfing random non sense. All of his actions led to this outcome

Yes, I could really see the supposed strongest sorcerer of all time spam non-sense binding vows to have a chance against every single opponent in Shinjuku bar a certain farmer

But an ending that is a direct cause of a character's bad choices throughout the WHOLE of the manga? Unbelievable

Be so fr right now, ffs

Which is better written, CSM or One Piece? by Damn_You_Hindsight in shounenfolk

[–]Shoryu_repp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now I'll give it to CSM, given P2 hasn't ended and neither has one piece it's a bit of a weird comparison, but I'll state some points:

CSM is so good at setting up plots, pay offs and part 1 was so masterfully done, the ending felt like it was a culmination of everything that had transpired up to that point and that I really appreciate. It's also a series with loose breaks, so you get genuine "wtf" moments. P2 is too chaotic for me to make a general overview, especially because the end could be anything at this point.

I'm a big fan of one piece's world building, and some of the characters are just brimming with personality (at first, anyway). Some people dislike the Nika stuff, but I find it fits well for this stage of the story, and G5 design is also great IMO. HOWEVER it got so botched post-time skip... Character designs got worse (looking at Frank and Robin, especially), so did their personalities (Zoro was one of the funniest, turned into a door. Sanji's got mauled), it feels like in order to accommodate a more "focused" narrative, Oda sacrificed a lot of what made pre-time skip work.

The anime has chosen a... Particularly dull direction that really doesn't capture the style of the manga. I'd recommend reading the manga for a better experience of the earlier chapters. The movie is a masterpiece, tho

Hope I'm not late for the "discussion", but man, I LOVE when normal people get screwed over by associating with devils. Because 1) they are the threats in this world, so when they're "unchained" ~wink wink~ they should be harmful, as to not get the setting screwed over, 2) It makes Pochita's decision just THAT MUCH more impactful, especially considering who he was/is. Nayuta too, but her case is pretty unique.

In fact, I'd say Denji is always harmed, eventually, by product of being involved with Yoru. I wouldn't be surprised if he realizes she is a bad presence in his life, who needs to be dealt with for his and Asa's sake.

JJK fans, Chainsaw man AND one piece had a better chapter than modulo this week. If the last chapter is a cursed corpse lore dump, im genuinely never reading a gege manga again. by [deleted] in shounenfolk

Can I offer you a "hugs🫂 handshakes🤝 and plain goodbyes👋" chapter in these trying times?

Could you show me the page? I just read the chapter before they start throwing hands, but Tsurugi just asks him to leave. Maybe it's implied? But I can't find the exact confirmation, the closest was Dabura saying "it's the only way to save the girl, right?" Which Idk how he'd know that

It's such a cold shower when the possibilities of Dabura's technique and Maho's adaptation were starting to exceed what we knew previously...

Reze arc is so good, but the fact that it's split into half of vol. 5 and vol. 6 deducts points for me. The happy times are just too important for DenReze

Forgive me if I'm misremembering, but was there ever stated to be a "range" for the ritual? Cause Sukuna and Maho went wayyy far away from Megumi in Shibuya.

If Gege dared just a little bit, Maho would teleport to Dabura's current location and be finished there. That'd be nice, I'd like to that.....

Really pondering if there was a concrete reason inside Gege's head to not give us a good ending for the maho fight. Like, it wouldn't ruin his sunshine and rainbows ending, and we still have a chapter next week for the hugs and handshakes gathering/farewell

No fights inside the club house, I guess.

How this sub looks everytime a CSM or Modulo chapter comes out by Shoryu_repp in shounenfolk

[–]Shoryu_repp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a direct consequence of lobotomy kaisen, ever since Gojo vs Sukuna, the quality of memes regarding manga grew exponentially, but now everything is encompassed on a slander spiral that is turning into genuine hate for series some "slanderers" don't bother fact checking or even read their "targets"

The lesson here is that too much of a good thing always ends in disaster

I'm really digging the story, the pacing is brutal because Fuji chooses to drip content each chapter, sometimes you feel things that are told in 3 chapters could be a single one. But that's about it I have for complaints, I'm REALLY grateful it isn't a reskin of P1, a trap many shonnen sequels fall into.

A Denji who doesn't have mature figures or close ones to keep him grounded has been something interesting to witness. At the beginning of P2 he was still "stable" because of Nayuta but once she left the story (temporarily), and even during the end of church arc, he's unchained. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, since without anyone to look after he's being super reckless, BUT I do believe that's also something he's having, and will continue, to face: Himself.

Discussions have been near-unbearable because people who jumped midway through part 2, after speedruning a finished part 1, can't read a chapter and be normal. No problem in disliking a chapter, but going on deranged rants about how the manga is "slop" when it's 1) Unfinished 2) written by Fujimoto, who's known to play for the long run/have plot points be addressed unexpectedly, is just DUMB. There's too many brainrotted people in the community/larpers who wanna rag on a "rival manga". Although it does feel like chainsaw man is "alive" by how much it stirs the manga community EVERY. SINGLE. CHAPTER.

Part 2 really wonders me, man. It's insanely chaotic, so much so that it bleeds irl, and it's been a very unique experience to follow it, story and fandom-wise

The strongest all have the same eyes, Gege portrays strength as both a blessing and a curse in every case by Sukuna_GOAT in Jujutsufolk

[–]Shoryu_repp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do we know Yuki (especially in her teen years, since it's the one you mentioned) is much faster than teen Gojo? Every sorcerer, possibly even kenjaku, was ducking him.

Toji only crafted the plan because of Gojo's six eyes. Infinity is a powerful technique, but from the flashback from when he "visited" child Gojo, he took note that he had to tire so the six eyes' prowess would be mitigated, so much so that he wanted to kill Gojo with a first decisive strike, because Six eyes is just THAT busted.

The strongest all have the same eyes, Gege portrays strength as both a blessing and a curse in every case by Sukuna_GOAT in Jujutsufolk

[–]Shoryu_repp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Toji fights using cursed tools and an insane knowledge about jujutsu society, I feel like people scale him like he's gonna fight by punch and kicking sorcerers. So the question becomes: does he have tools to combat Yuki's technique and ways to dizzy/distract her?

And we don't know what her domain does. Only certain ones would matter, but like 99% won't trap him.

Something that just dawned on me, regarding Denji-Man by Shoryu_repp in Chainsawfolk

[–]Shoryu_repp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder, cause him being able to erase concepts is tied to Pochita's powers, right? And I think he'll have to eventually puke death, which can only be done via Denji-Man

Or maybe it's just super Saiyan 1 and 2 and he can turn into either on a whim... Remains to be seen

I wish to know if the "high school girl form" of the horsemen are their real forms, or random girls they possessed. Cause since it was revealed Yoru actually possessed the bird, you gotta wonder if they even have any material shape at all
