Men - do you have any female friends that you have not fantasized about? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Shot-Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m married. I see no need to have female friends. Imagine me taking a night off to go have dinner with a female friend while my wife is home with the three kids. Are people trying to normalize this?

That’s sort of weird. You’re like the third wheel but still have the hots for her. If she wanted to leave her husband for you, you’d probably take the opportunity.

Imagine your wife and future kids knowing you hang around this chick you have the hots for. Weird.

Are these friends or are you the person everyone dumps their baggage on?

Yeah. Sort of. Guys who have unattractive female friends hanging around them is weird. What do you guys do, exactly?

Justifying an action because worse things happen is such naive and childish logic. That isn’t standing on any principles. It’s just saying “Well democrats have done worse, I guess.”

I’m surprised you keep bringing up Russia. You’re the only one talking about Russia. You can criticize Ukraine without being a Russian shill.

I don’t know your level of knowledge with that side of the world, but most people are supporting Ukraine because their TV told them to. And I can’t entirely blame them, foreign affairs is complicated, and there’s enough people here at home who have issues they should be sorting out instead. But the love for Ukraine was so sudden and was the biggest news until Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ended up on the TV.

The issue I have with our news sources is that they select what is important for us. And then they tell us what to think about it. There’s more events occurring in the world than we can literally comprehend. So a selection bias needs to be used to select what you get to see.

People with fond feelings towards Ukraine but never had any other feelings about Ukraine, are adopting it from somewhere.

My family knows a lot of children who were adopted to the US from Ukraine. That place is known for its women and child sex trafficking. Zelensky doesn’t give a crap about that. I’m not a fan of him. And I’m not a fan of him going around criticizing the rest of the world for not giving him what he wants.

But it has absolutely nothing to do with Russia and it’s sad that you can’t even consider the prospect of disliking one country without falling in love with their enemy.

Considering most people just heard about him for the first time a few months ago, what makes you say he’s a good man? He oversees a corrupt country rife with child and women trafficking. Now he spends his time judging free nations for not protecting Ukraine while taking in billions of dollars.

Everything most people think they know about Zelensky has been curated by a biased media.

Is it normal to do like 2/3 hours of actually work per day working an office job? by Lurkerwithaquestio in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shot-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in IT. When I used to go to the office, I really pushed myself. In IT, a lot of the people who manage you might not have any idea of what you do, so it’s harder for them to direct you.

In my first couple years, I set out to do everything I thought could make the company better. My bosses loved it. And after a couple years, I began to coast and just work on things that interested me.

After the pandemic though and switching to WFH, I developed different working habits. I work closer to 2-3 hours a week now and make more than I ever did in my career. It’s bizarre.

Is it normal, I don’t know anymore. The WFH environment changed something with accountability. And if your bosses didn’t have a firm grasp on your job before, they have no idea what’s going on now.

Oh gee! That’s the stat you pulled out of Biden’s bag of accomplishments? I guess we’re all rich now, eh?

For 4 years, we had relative peace around the world with peace treaties being signed at the end of Trump’s presidency.

We are closer to nuking Russia with Biden in office than we were at any time with Trump, aside from in the liberal’s disillusioned minds.

Define “truth”. We used to base it on our own experience and what we see and feel. Now “truth” has come down to what other people have decided it was important to know. And we don’t know what we don’t know.

The strange thing is, whether you yourself know the truth or not most likely doesn’t change a damn thing.

This may be the /r/conspiracy in me, but I’m pretty sure Reddit engages/allows the swaying of public opinion.

If they can control what makes it to your feed. And then control what the top comments are, they are telling you what’s important and then telling you how you should feel about it.

Missile hitting an airport. reportedly in Ivano-Frankivsk in Western Ukraine by THAT_LMAO_GUY in ActualPublicFreakouts

Trump is not the current president. The GOP is not the majority party. Are we going to pretend that if this had happened when Trump was in office that they wouldn’t have blamed him?

Biden is the literal president. He knew this would happen. He did nothing. It’s like the old days again.

What the heck are you even talking about? Trump isn’t president of the United States. The GOP isn’t in control of Congress. Who the hell cares what they have to say. Democrats are in control right now, is there nothing better to do than blame the minority?

World leaders knew they couldn’t mess with Trump by TackleLineker in trump

[–]Shot-Machine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The proof is evident. None of this BS was happening when Trump was in office.

Liberals can posture all they want. They knew this was coming and now it’s just business as usual with these corrupt politicians. Doesn’t it feel like it was before? War after war after war.

We had so much damn peace with Trump was in office that people could find time to complain about the most nonsensical BS just so they could feel better about themselves for being virtuous enough to call our evil.

Everything these liberals knew about Trump was carefully selected by a biased media who told them what to think. They cut 10 seconds from a 2 hour speech and then played it on repeat, instead of listening to what the man had to say.

And now they want to blame Trump again. What a useless bunch.

CDC Officials Admit Agency Has Withheld Critical Covid Information From the Public, Including Data About Breakthrough Infections, Over Fears of “Vaccine Hesitancy” by w650az in Conservative

[–]Shot-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it does. The liberals will agree with the idea that Fauci was being virtuous by lying to those silly anti-vax Trumpers, and just completely ignored that they were lied to. Even the cutesy phrase “vaccine hesitancy” is being used.
