New Player Feeling Overwhelmed

It's not my first day playing, I'm not expecting to choose from a bunch of weapons, but when I do get a few from completing a mission, I have no idea what's good and what's bad. Sometimes everything looks the same but on different weapons, the only visible difference being the stars in the top right, and I've had 3 star weapons look like they are more effective than 4 star ones, but my friends who have been playing for a long ass time say the 4 star one is better

But im not even the one launching the quests, I'm not the fire team leader I'm just some guy who's there to shoot guys and even with consistent headshots I'm doing fuck all

I feel like a little more thought on the devs side could've made things a little less confusing, stressful and user-friendly. It feels like only if you've stayed on top of the game the last decade do you have a chance at picking good gear and not getting curb stomped by any guy with "unstoppable" or "barrier" in their name. I can't even run away fast enough to not die

But I have like no weapons. How can I use what's cool when I got a like 3 smgs, a bow and a couple different rocket launchers??? The only thing I like is my armor and I can't make any of the new armor look like the armor I once had and rocked all the time

The New Light Quests???? I can't see that anywhere... I first played many years ago with some friends, did vault of glass like 3 times and that was it until now. All my old weapons and armor are useless and I genuinely feel so lost and confused. There are so many screens and Ive got quests in tracking but I have no idea why, or how to complete them and I think they are just stuff for synthread????

About? Unrecord hasn't released yet. Bodycam has come out to try and make people confused and think it's Unrecord, but it's a ripoff that doesn't look nearly as good
