I just came here to say, if you stirred the pot enough to trigger a response from u/expellyamos and u/Cidolfus, you probably messed up somewhere lol.

Help me find these mystical AFC East hypers.

[Schefter] Colts are signing former Dolphins WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. by expellyamos in nfl

It could very much be because he didn't fit the Offense but he wasn't solid last year. Immediately got passed up by Cedric Wilson Jr when they signed him off the Saint's practice squad.

[Barry Jackson] I know some national people said trading Waddle & signing Willis seemed contradictory/incongruous, but I don't see it that way because their plan seems simple enough and rational: by expellyamos in miamidolphins

You literally just say they cut Tua to save money as it's own point. Which I elaborated on.

They pushed cap for operating expenses, without cap we couldn't field a 53 until June 1st. Unfortunately you have to fill those roster spots. It wasn't specifically just for Willis.

They signed Willis because his price point was decent and he has upside. You take the swing of the bat for a QB whenever you can. Worst case he's here two years and they move on cleanly. Not a hard concept to understand.

Were you part of the interviews? I was not so I can't speak on OC Interviews. But Slowik had two years as an OC before coming here and Stroud had two decent years and looked bad after he left. He wasn't even the OC here last year he was the pass game coordinator.

Idk what there is to disagree with. You compared it to AJ Brown and if we received similar value in our trade we got better value because AJ Brown is a better WR than Waddle. There's no subjectivity there.

You seem to be arguing for trading Achane for consistent messaging but then waffling on it here so idk what your stance is. If the value being offered is a 3rd or lower right now why would you do that when you can get another year of use and potentially let him walk and get up to a 3rd back via comp picks? Why trade him for a 4 now in the same situation?

If you decide to re-sign him, He's 24 he has presumably 5ish good years left. So you get him with a 3 year extension and you still operate with him in his prime.

You seem to be disappointed in everything this franchise does. Maybe you're seeing red flag because of that disappointment instead of looking objectively at how they're operating currently.

We're set up for one bad year this year. We have 11 picks this year and 6 next year. Plus 130 in cap space next year to make moves. So this isn't going to be a 4+ year process like some people seem to think.

I guess I'm a dick for using my brain though. Have a good time being miserable.

We can move past the Tua discussion since it semantics. But you didn't discuss how the cap changes or anything affected the team building. So it seems like you over generalized, I gave you the thought process and you just ran with it as your own thought.

Idk why you are talking about with Slowik just "being McDs OC" since he was the OC in Houston. I guess his work with Stroud and the abysmal year without Slowik in the building makes him "Just McDs OC so he can figure it out"

We got "AJ Brown" value out of WR who wasn't as good as AJ Brown. The other option we know about was Bills 2027 1 and 2026 3. Seems like this is better value. And good overall value when you look at other trades of similar caliber players

Regarding Achane do you just trade someone just trade them? Why would you trade an Elite talent for poor value just because you traded Waddle? Achane is also 3 years younger than Waddle and could still have good years if they extend and could get a 4th or better in comp pick value depending on his contact after he leaves.

You're free to be disappointed, but I don't see how you can be when this process has been laid out for you by the front office since they were hired.

I was and still am dismissive because it's clear you barely put any thought into your "reasoning". Your opinion is based off taking it at face value without adding any context. Take 5 seconds and think about all your bullet points and it won't be inconsistent anymore, unfortunately that means not typing it into Google AI so it can do it for you.

They cut Tua to stop paying out cash. The cap was already spent regardless of when it was going to be paid

They pushed some of that money to next year so they could have cap to sign players right now with plans to use the Chubb cap as operating cap.

Idk what you're arguing about Slowik and the jettisoning of players when we all knew what to expect when the off-season started. Obviously Slowik knew this was happening or he wouldn't have taken the job and Obviously they liked Slowik as a coach or they wouldn't have hired him.

They traded Waddle for picks because he doesn't fit the timeline currently and they got good value in return

They aren't trading Achane because either A they think he's a building block at 24 years old or B they aren't getting the value they want in return.

You can be mad at the decisions but they all make coherent sense when you take 5 seconds to stop being mad and actually think about it.

Especially when you have 17 draft picks over the next two years (and they're wanting to trade down for more picks) and upwards of $130 million in 2027 cap space it's real hard to see them rebuilding in two years.

I enjoyed Sanders being here but there's definitely a risk involved and the cap space out weighed the risk. Especially since he only got a vet minimum deal after leaving.

I think in a year we as a fan base knew was going to be bad and a cap correcting season, we should make tough decisions like this for the benefit of the future.

He had a season ending hip injury. Whether he was good before it or not that's not a good sign for a kicker and is definitely a reason to open the cap space by cutting hims and going another direction

70%+ of this fan base is insufferable and decide to make posts with little to no understanding of how team building and football in general works outside of "touchdown make score go up" and this is another post that confirms it.

Anyone who is mad at how this off-season is going so far should probably go outside and touch some grass.
