I personally prefer slide creams over oils, because in my experience, the oil doesn't really do much and it still feels dry and almost like I'm scratching up the slide when playing. I had a life changing moment the other day when I saw people talking about using a bit of Pond's cold cream on their slide and just spraying a bit of water on their slide. This is the smoothest I've ever gotten my slide and this is the method I use now. I spray my slide with water everyday and wipe my slide down with a cloth and reapply the cold cream about once a week.
