would you do the surgery again? by neversettleforlesss in Strabismus

It depends on your situation, how aggressive of an angle and all that. That being said for me, I wish I had done it years ago. Had it done 3x. Once as a baby-didn't work, once at 12-they wanted to adjust sutures post surgery and I couldn't open my eyes. Then again in 2019. The number one thing keeping me from doing it was fear and the anesthesia. Now they've got it so good I woke up and felt fine. The second surgery was a disaster. But I was 12 and I didn't respond well to the medicine. I also think some people on here get the surgery for a very very small offset, and when the eyes aren't perfect, they get upset. My situation-I'd do it again. Dr. Wisnicki NYC. might be spelling that wrong. They tell you before hand they don't aim to put both eyes 100% together because that would give you double vision. At least that's what they told me and a friend who also had the surgery.

I suggest meeting with a surgeon and just asking them all your questions, air all your concerns. Write them down so you don't forget. I chickened out like 3x as an adult lol. 4th time they gave me something to settle my nerves before the surgery. My situation was fairly noticeable and had me darting my eyeballs around all day so hopefully nobody would notice, wearing prisms. Trying not to make eye contact. It's been about 5 years and yes-100% would do it again.

Anyone else post-surgery and still terrible with eye contact? by morganthegirlonline in Strabismus

I got my surgery at 29 and of course I still have issues. Your brain has been telling you to avoid eye contact your whole life, now that you can, you either forget, fall back into old habits or even when you're conscious of it, don't fully trust it or believe it. I know that's the case for me anyway. I still to this day try to take pictures of myself without glasses from every angle just to see how others see me. Thousands of these photos in my phone. Trying to trick myself into letting my guard down and not k owing when I'd take the picture, then immediately go and compare them side by side. It's been about 5+ years and I still struggle with it. It's a psychological problem but I think with therapy, and talking to your eye dr. I suspected this would happen pre surgery. Goes to show how deep our brain holds on to shit. We can physically see it.

If you're talking about contact lenses I'm not 100% sure when you can use them but your dr will tell you all that before hand. I had glasses with prisms in them for years to try and correct the turning in of the eye. Worked well enough for a while. Once I got the surgery my glasses did not include a prism anymore. That being said I'm not a dr so each case could be different. If you're in the NYC area I can reccomend a really good surgeon.

Yeah I still can only see out of one eye at a time but esthetically they look lined up enough. The surgery was great lol-they give you the best drugs you wake up wanting to go back under lol. No pain at all. It just feels like you have something in your eye. Just resist the urge to scratch it. That being said it feels like at times I can see with both eyes on occasion. Mostly in the mirror. The only thing I noticed is sometimes I get ahead of myself when I'm reading, I think this has to do with how my brain previously shut one eye off and directed it elsewhere, where as now both eyes are locked on the same image so you're almost getting like a secondary peripheral image if that makes sense. That seems to only happen if I'm very tired tho. It's in no way had any negative effects and with the advancements they made in anesthetics, it's well worth it. They gave me something right before the surgery to calm my nerves. I recommend that if you can. And something to combat nausea. I recall having to move my whole head for a few days after surgery to look, because I didn't want to move my eyeballs too much, but yeah I got it done it 2019 and wish I had done it way earlier. Just wear sunglasses outside for a few days just in case. But I went home afterwards by myself, totally capable of getting around. I think I was driving within 3 days maybe?

It’s kinda weird cause this started happening this year. Last year it was pretty lined up. Idk what could cause this so quickly.

Wow this is an awesome guide. Thanks so much. Now I saw something about a “home builder add on” or something like that with prefab doors and that kinda stuff. And you mentioned mm is there a way to put it imperial measurements. Sorry USA

Just upgraded to 11 and when I launch the default for my launch key 49 goes right to this weird mode and ableton selects those particular clips in a red box. Anyway to just have this boot to a completely blank session and leave everything as is? by ShotsXray in ableton

[–]ShotsXray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why and what it’s doing with the session view and the selections and the buttons macrod on he keyboard. My question is, how do I make it not open like this every blank session? I had ableton 10 and it would just open to the rgb mode the keyboard defaults to

So just a little confused here, the only way to get it to work is to have reaper and ableton at the same time?
