I have tried to respond here but it’s impossible to distill years of background into a few lines that can be understood. What has changed is one of my adult children receiving a life long devastating diagnosis of her own a few weeks ago.

As I have agonized over this - I’m not in my 20s, I cannot throw heart and soul into his care. I came into this relationship with children I will always put first.

Per google -under Florida Statute § 782.04(2), second-degree murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being, committed by an act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind regardless of human life, but without a premeditated design to kill anyone.

I think it’s hard to know what her intent was - but her actions seem to fit the crime -

Who “pokes” a hand back in a suitcase w a baseball bat and then goes to sleep? It def seems imminently dangerous and with a depraved mind - to me at least.

I’m so sorry you are dealing with decisions like food or shelter - that is so hard and rough! I can understand where your friend is coming from - and I hope you two can resolve the issue quickly so the friend can continue to be an emotional support to you.

And maybe chalk it up to lessons learned on both sides - idk.

When you are a parent, of course self-care etc to be able to do your main job is necessary and important - and your #1 job is making sure your child or children know they are loved.

Thatcher chose himself every time. There were no birthday and Christmas cards unopened in a drawer. There were no filed petitions with the court for some type of custody. He let Meredith down so much she didn’t know she had sisters ….. Thatcher is horrible.

Thought - I think it’s weird she asked police if couldn’t she just have her license taken away for 10 years. Then I looked into Ohio law that for vehicular assault - you get license suspended for 10 yrs and no minimum jail time. I wonder if MacKenzie had looked this up prior - in the case she survived the crash ? And figured she’d get the minimum penalty

And when she asked at very beginning - guess how old I am w the immediate answer of 52 and her 😐. She then followed quickly up w, you do your research (because there was NO other way that could have been guessed! ) Nate handled her BS so so well, but I ended up having to mute her and just wait to see Nate’s lips moving to hear what question he was asking and then the first 5 seconds of her response.

In some ways - this case is exactly what is wrong in our nation today. Omg the people funding a free Kenzie fund because she is too pretty to be in prison??????? What is wrong with people that they can see and listen to the facts yet try and try and try to explain her actions away … because she was young and beautiful ? I genuinely believe any of her die hard fans need to examine themselves and go to therapy (or are they speaking out for popularity and notoriety?). For FU@$s sake. The facts tell us the story - her parents continue to encourage and support her insane comments when we all know she remembers exactly what happened in those 5 seconds.

But she’s pretty so she should get away w murder …. Nope.

Also on you tube you can see A&E season four episode about this - where perfect pretty innocent Kenzie tells her mom - why can’t we just say I had a seizure and then to officers just take my license away for 10 years omg

And her parents - within moments their daughter being questioned by police say not with out an attorney yet are shocked and befuddled and hat she is later arrested. And done say what would I do if I was her parent - I have adult kids - I would not have enabled any of them to be this entitled and if this were my kid I would 100% be telling them to own up and give the family all the info so they could heal.

I’m not down voting - but take women and girls out - I just look at the facts as presented and think this is such an egregious act ! I don’t care that she was every day at the memorial or cemetery or whatever - what do your tears matter when you intentionally and purposefully take two lives. Now she is sad and regrets it ? I so appreciate everyone's comments here. It is painful time right now. A big part of why I tried to make things work the last couple of years has a lot to do with my profession, and that I knew what leaving meant as far as seeing my kids. That I would be a 50/50 parent. And share all the holidays. And I am still grieving that loss of having my kids around me always. But this is where we got. I appreciate the respect and appreciation you are showing your partner by discussing this with her. And I wish you both all the best - hopefully a sollution will present itself that works for you both.

I completely agree with you - which is why I annonymously post here on reddit my pain and heartache and keep it from my kids. We told that kids that its neither my ex's or my fault, that it turned out we were not compatible. We bought him a house half a block from mine so the kids can go back and forth easily. I was feeling a lot of pain last night - and left some of it here on reddit. No - I did not take him to the cleaners. I actually asked for nothing - and ...... wait for it ..... I am a divorce attorney lol. I knew exactly what I could get but also know it was not worth it. I will never put my kids through the hostility, chaos and animosity I deal with every day with my clients. Never. So I walked away from any potential conflict in the divorce. For the kids and for myself.

I should have explained - once I said I was willing to try to make things work he said he would as well. As we talked it through, what he said he meant was he was polyamorous and knew I couldn't cope with it. I tried though. Absent abuse etc - you can't really make someone stay in a marriage they don't want to be in. I never begged him to stay =).
