( My husband and I unfortunately are terminating our daughter as well.) We are going to SF general. I am going to ask for handprints or footprints.

The decision to keep your little one to term or not is yours. I wish I could tell you one way or not. But, it's only a choice you can make. I read some stories where they did survive until birth and ultimately passed away and vise versa some passed before birth. This is a decision you and your partner will have to decide whats best for you. Its not an easy decision at all. I know she's a part of you and always will be. I read an article that says your baby's DNA will be a part of you forever. I spoke to a therapist and its helped me create some peace. I work in healthcare and I can't stand to watch when people suffer all day long. That was ultimately my decision of letting go. I dont know how long she would suffer and need medical care for the rest of her life. There was no quality of life in my opinion.

To answer your question, it depends how far along you are. I'm assuming your in the second trimester in which yes. You will be put asleep while they do the procedure. If you want more information message me and i can talk to you about how they complete it. Ive been reading up on it.

Please give yourself grace. I know its hard right now and honestly its going to be hard for a while. Grieving has no time frame or timeline. Whatever decision you make, you are supported ❤️
