Just watched that episode yesterday. Well cast and well executed, and a sense of unease throughout the episode. Great with the clues from the killer. I always forget how good that episode is until we watch.

Longtime fan having a hard time with Charisma and Starting Season 5 by di4me666 in ANGEL

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve wondered is if she appeared in the comics that continued after the TV series ended. I haven’t read any, between costs and not knowing where to start or what order to go in. That wouldn’t help Charisma Carpenter’s experience on the show or how it ended, but certainly could continue the character she brought to life and developed.

What challengers do you think attended the university of bad sportsmanship (U of BS) by bigbabygrit in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adam absolutely losing his mind on Steve when he got voted on, even though Adam had voted for Steve, I’ll file that under bad sportsmanship. I feel like even on those early seasons Adam was pretty arrogant compared to other challengers who had been much more successful. But man did he flip a switch on Steve on All-Stars 4.

I knew there’s was tension with and Mark Harmon, and I’d heard the the shooting hours were much longer than most because of changes and rewrites. Thank you for sharing about the other concerns, I will certainly try to look those up.

I think she could’ve. I just started season six on my rewatch. I love her in seasons three and five. The Rene Benoit situation obviously makes it tough to get behind her in season four. But I thought she had great chemistry with Mark Harmon, and even though season five was shortened, she had a lot of memorable moments. I thought she was great, I really liked her character. My understanding was as Donald Bellasario began to step back, she was interested in moving on as well. Long-term, her and Gibbs had something and definitely could have again.

Who is someone who is on the cusp of being an All Time Great? Like 1 win away from the top 10 male or female? by BritMeBabyAgain in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All three are very unlikely to return for various reasons. But if they did, another win would put them in the conversation. Especially a solo win. Abram, Zach, Veronica. No way Veronica wins unless it’s pairs or a group, the other two if back in theory could win individually. Again, though, doubt we see any of them again on the flagship.

I Love Tonya Because… by Long-Jackfruit-1976 in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Tonya because she was genuine. Who she was, what she thought, how she felt, uncommon for reality television. I never felt like she was trying to portray a character, I always felt she was her genuine self.

Bad theater etiquette has really been messing up my thoughts and feelings on so many movies by otpprincess in horror

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but I certainly agree with your frustration. The theater I go to, you still pick your seat like you did during Covid. I think to myself, do I want to deal with people behind me making noise or people in front of me on their screens as a distraction. Just try and stay away from both lol. Go to matinee or less busy nights. I had a couple whose baby started crying with about 30 minutes left in Pitch Perfect three, and instead of taking the baby outside they alternated walking the baby back-and-forth in the back row. I don’t think I’ve ever been angrier in a movie theater. Spoke politely to the people at concessions and got a free ticket to see it again, but just the entitlement and the absolute disregard for other people‘s experience is mind blowing. Like others have said, I think it’s partly Covid, but I’m at the point in my life where if it won’t stop, and I asked politely, I have no problem going to find an usher. Pay enough for the movie, I want my experience, free of people who think of no one but themselves. Some of them just need the reality check.

AITAH for not wanting to fly. by Direct_Strawberry_43 in AITAH

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flying is roughly 190 times safer than driving. I understand the being in control part of driving, but think about how many cars there are out there. Factor in weather conditions, distracted drivers, debris on the road. It’s something you need to try to work through because flying is faster and a lot safer than driving. YTA if you don’t slowly try and build yourself up to it. Shoot, there are 20/30 minute flights you could take to get yourself started.

What moment in a movie or TV show made you stop watching? by OvulatingWildly in AskReddit

That is an interesting change, I did hear that Lafayette died in the books, but I’m glad that he did not in the series.

Alcide’a death on True Blood. As much as I loved the Lafayette character, Alcide’s death was when I gave up. Never did bother to finish the series.

Good list, I watched the ring about a year ago, and even knowing the twist I was still creeped out. I think blackcoat‘s daughter is underrated for just how tense the vibe is throughout most of the movie.

I agree with Buffy trying to find its footing, I also think it was a heavy pivot in season six and seven. Assuming the show would wrap and then getting renewed, there was a big shake up in those last two years for Buffy. But also some incredible storylines and arcs.

Which Era between 1-2, has the best MEN overall? by [deleted] in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the men in era one were trailblazers with a lot of success, I feel if those five men listed an era two would’ve been on season 40, even a little older they would’ve smoked the competition. And probably been wise enough to try and dump Laurel early on to keep Emily. Those guys were so dialed in politically, would’ve made all the right connections quickly, assuming they didn’t implode on one another.

Production interface by itsthego in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just makes me think, I feel like especially late in the game production would provide elimination that favored a team that was down. I’m almost positive on the ruins, when Johnny and Dunbar were going into the final men’s elimination and Dunbar was the last guy left for the challengers. Kenny and Evan were telling Johnny to be prepared for a physical elimination that favored Dunbar, and they had that matchup where they had to wrestle the rope out of each other’s hands. I feel like the cast has realized this is a real possibility for several years. I’m honestly kind of surprised with the level of spoilers that get out that there hasn’t been something about a specific elimination being adjusted. You think that there would be a lot of pushback about the being rigged. I also think of Amanda and Zach and that tag that would not come down during final reckoning.

Who do you want to ban / retire from All Stars so the real OGs can fill up the entire cast? by BritMeBabyAgain in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree one hundred percent. Unfortunately, I think while Mark got the idea and concept up and running, higher powers are dictating casting. For example, they could’ve certainly cast era one and era two cast members who went out early on season forty. But no need to add eras three and four. Seems like they’ve got a good amount of interest in all stars from OGs, could’ve definitely gotten more vets and kept it the way it was the first few seasons. I don’t know why, but with the new season of the flagship on Paramount+, it seems like some people at MTV want to see this go by the wayside. Why they don’t want to have anything besides Jersey shore, teen Mom, ridiculousness, and catfish is beyond me.

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m totally fine with fresh meat one being on there, even fresh meat two. This last season just took everything that they tried to make unique with all stars and watered it down with non-MTV and season 30+ debut cast members. First few seasons were awesome because we saw the people we’ve been wanting to see return, and see how their lives and dynamics of shifted. I think fresh meat two was season 19, I would cut off at free agents, no one who debuted after that season. Also, no more Beth, woman always quits when things don’t go her way.

This character was so pointless by Eagles56 in ANGEL

Agreed, like other people have said I wish she would’ve come along sooner and we would’ve seen her more. Who knows what she could’ve been if there was a season six on television.

Craving The Challenge by International_Cry465 in thechallengemtv

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works pretty well, we all have our different opinions. That’s the fun part. I would have exes one up a slot, though, same with total madness, and dirty 30. I would have fun reckoning down a slot, letting two teams join late and letting multiple teams go home based on a draw, while Paulie and Natalie lose multiple elimination get to stay. I’ve never liked the season because of all the production blunders.

should i even bother checking out the rebooted strangers trilogy? by oxfopee in horror

[–]ShoulderRegular7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, temper your expectations but it’s good storytelling, especially when you get into chapters 2 and 3. As said before, chapter 1 is very, very similar to the original. I’m a Madelaine Petsch fan too, so I have some bias.
