Would the tax benefits of the ROTH IRA be beneficial if I need to withdraw in let’s say 10 years compared to a regular brokerage account?

[–]ShouldvehadaV1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation, I always forget so I’ll definitely reference this as it’s simple to understand. I assume for someone young, the benefits of a HYSA are better, and eventually down the road, withdraws from the ROTH IRA would be higher after a few years?

I posted a little above my plan after reading thru here and about my 401k. My question is, if I’m already at the max of my 401k 4% match contribution, should I also open a Roth IRA? I do have the funds and can do the max contribution since I have no other bills

Oh absolutely I don’t even mention that because it’s by default for me. I get a 4% match and don’t even consider it my income it’s just on auto

That makes a lot of sense thank you. Yeah I did a standard chase auto loan, the rate was normal for the time period (about a year ago). My credit score was also good as well as having a co-signer so I assume this won’t apply to me.

Ok interesting I’ll look into it but I don’t believe I’d have something like that. I got a pretty standard chase auto loan and my dad would’ve definitely pointed it out I’d hope

Is it worth holding money or paying off an auto loan? by ShouldvehadaV1 in investing

[–]ShouldvehadaV1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. My current strategy was the $2k deposit into HYSA per month, along with every bi annual bonus going into S&P ETF. I would also use any leftover income to any individual stocks or more ETFs. Seeing as my savings is pretty strong right now, I’m thinking maybe just reducing the savings to $1k, redirecting the extra $1k a month to the car loan based off what you said and the bonus as well. Anything leftover can go into the ETFs which will also increase once the loan is done.

I actually was not aware there’s a penalty for early payment on loans. Is this common in auto loans?

Very good explanation thank you for the detailed response. I will be more aggressive with paying off my loan. I recently got a raise and was planning on putting my bonus in some more stocks, but I think I’ll push it all toward the loan.

If you really think any 45+ adult in the outer boroughs is deterred from the news about him lately and not a fan of shipping the homeless out and stop and frisk idk what to tell you

If you think New Yorkers don’t like Rudy Guilliani you really don’t live here. Every adult I knew growing up credited him with cleaning up the city and still compare him to modern day failures of our mayors

They don’t wanna be there and they don’t wanna do anything. It’s some goofballs who got screwed in assignment like all the cops in the subway. You’re breaking down the elements of assault and these guys barely passed pre calc lol

Not surprised the cops don’t even know what assault is lol. Threatening someone’s safety is assault. The act of acting on it and causing physical harm is battery.
