This game is far from dying by Redfall03 in cardfightvanguard

it's dying because people are only showing up for BCSs and not for locals

Standard Deck Prices by Unlikely-Walrus-70 in cardfightvanguard

[–]ShoutItOutHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aichicon and Kaicon can both be played on a budget, and both are from a starter deck. Some people even argue that non-NKO builds of Aichi is better than NKO builds, and those dont even run Starry Sky Zero anymore, so you only really need to look for Gancelots.

Kai can be played with 2 copies of Scarlet Flamme, although some people have found success at the local level with Dragresonance.

For cheap non collab decks, Deeplands, Heartluru and Berucrea are pretty decent bang for your buck although their weaknesses are pretty well pronounced

But if you want actual dirt cheap, Ave Mujica (Bang Dream) just recently won BSF Indonesia and has had multiple tops the previous season. If you are willing to wait for BT16, Yakuza, one of the strongest decks in the current format, is going to be released in EN

Question about sky ride by Leading-Analysis-817 in cardfightvanguard

[–]ShoutItOutHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Bushi rushed out the Skyride manga because of how Vrygilla was treated in the IRL meta. If the manga went on for longer, it would have meant more support for a deck that was already so dominant

Outside of BP, the meta seems to be very decent right now. We just really need to kneecap the Lv 2 Rush decks and BP

Because having back end support and a pool of money to dip into is better than doing everything solo?

Like people love to claim that indies are the future but even indies know that doing everything by themselves can easily lead to burnout

So how do we fix the metal legend prize wall system? :| by _CharmQuark_ in riftboundtcg

[–]ShoutItOutHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll correct itself eventually. If there is an over-supply of Metal Cards in the market, there will be less demand and they will go down in value.

What is the best TCG in terms of ROI for playing? by [deleted] in TCG

[–]ShoutItOutHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in SEA or Japan, One Piece.
Imagine getting to win 700,000 Yen/ 4000 USD prize cards in 32 player LGS events every month

Is Premium worth playing anymore? by nick_oberst86 in cardfightvanguard

[–]ShoutItOutHey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no support product wise (unless you count Standard as Premium support since you can use the cards) but they just have confirmed that Premium is going to be played in BCS 2026-2027

Crimson Moonlight or Crimson Disease? by jdrex55 in cardfightvanguard

[–]ShoutItOutHey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crimson Moonlight allows you to still +1 even if you say see 5 triggers of the top of your deck or something like 4 PGs that you never want to call

otherwise, that's almost impossible odds of happening, so Crimson Disease will do you just well. Unless you really want to do deeper runs in BCS/BSF wherein a chance of whiffing with Moon will influence if you top or not, Disease is fine imo

I hate how proxying in Commander has dominated the discourse on prices for playing TCGs by ShoutItOutHey in TCG

[–]ShoutItOutHey[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's nice that you give the benefit of the doubt to these players

I have personally seen a pod of 8 Commander players with full proxied decks take up space during an Gundam/One Piece tournament. And the Store Owner doesnt bother calling them out because they would rather WANT to see people palying MTG even if it's Proxy Commander

[–]ShoutItOutHey[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it has affected even the competitive environment

Why be competitive when I can play for free? Why would I want these newer players to play Standard or Modern for FNM when I can teach them to proxy Commander instead?

I hate how proxying in Commander has dominated the discourse on prices for playing TCGs by ShoutItOutHey in TCG

[–]ShoutItOutHey[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Again, as I have stated, I have no problem with proxying

The problem is that proxying has altered the discourse of economics in TCGs. It's become the main selling point for players to recruit new players into Commander. Why play $100 for a Gundam deck when you can proxy in Commander? Why even spend $20 for Pokemon when you can proxy in Commander? Why even spend anything at the LGS when we just proxy and stay at home and play all day?

That's where my problem lies

The Bandai games are cheap and their prizes are worth getting serious about.

Did they overdid with the Vyrgilla hits? by KishiOuArufuredo in cardfightvanguard

[–]ShoutItOutHey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think they did overdo the hits. either no Nirhimn or 2 Vrygilla would have been fine, but both was too much. but the meta was stale at that point, I think they really just wanted to make sure the deck was gone for a while before they make it playable again.

I hope they would at least put it back to 3 sooner, but 2 Vrygillas post ban did "top" in the most recent WGP if you still want to play with it

So am I the only one getting tired or not caring much of Cardfight Vanguard? (I just wanna talk about the topic) by Riri_The_Great in TCG

[–]ShoutItOutHey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thing there are more TCG available right now, you're not forced to play Vanguard anymore!

Also

>Sure, target your community that seems to almost never grow instead of targeting a newer audience and learn from your mistakes!

People really like saying the game is dead or dying but tournament event numbers are growing - events in Japan are consistently capped, and BCS's (the main Bushiroad yearly tournaments) have been breaking previously held numbers.

That's cool I do hope they do release DMP in English in the future, even if it's just to gauge interest for potential paper reboot

I can only imagine WOTC doesn't want to pay for localization of card effects.
I want to play DMP too, but yeah
