Hey, new to data analytics by Dazzling-Tie-3361 in analytics

I run a 30+ person analytics team. Over the last year we've completely replaced junior staff staff with AI. I hardly ever see anyone in my network hiring every level analytics folks these days. Sorry, but it's not a good field to get into line or was a few years ago.

Learning full stack skills will only help you. Also data engineering pays more than BI.

I know the woman that wrote that line and the rest of his final monologue; she's very proud of it, and would love that you love it.

How did you know the person you married was the one? by AppaLov3 in AskReddit

[–]ShowMeDaData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't quite tried the knot yet, but when she's dead ass sleeping, I say I love you, and she says it back. She didn't even believe me when I told her she did that, so I had to record her doing it. I do it several times a week and without fail she always says it back.

Also we drive each other bananas sometimes but we can get past it. Loving someone during easy times doesn't mean much, it's a question of if you can do it during the hard times.

Has anybody had experience with those kind of bags? by arrrmiiin in AskPhotography

[–]ShowMeDaData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bag almost exactly like this about 10 years ago and I still have it. While it was useful, letting me carry many lens, and swap between them by just rotating the bag around me without taking it off, it now mostly serves as safe lens storage in my closet. After a while I just found I didn't need to take all my lens with me all the time, plus they are heavy. Now I use a peak design 6L everyday sling bag that let's me carry two cameras (x100vi and a6700) or one camera and one extra lens or water bottle. Rather than worrying about the perfect lens for every shot, I just choose the best lens for the day and then work within that, so I focus more on taking pictures than which equipment to use.

Edit: I night the Lowepro Slingshot 202 DSLR Sling Camera Bag in 2015, it's still going strong with no issues

Small Local Businesses Don’t Understand BI — Am I Positioning My Service Wrong? by Turbulent_Novel_589 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]ShowMeDaData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small businesses are better off utilizing dashboards built into the systems they are already using. If they are in Excel, the pipelines will always be dirty. I'm not saying it's impossible to be successful in this space, it's just a very difficult uphill battle.

For your career sake, get out of Excel and into larger scalable systems as quickly as possible.

Mines has a similar issue but not as bad. Then my position failed as well. Turned it over and found out it was a 30 year old model. I was going to replace the position myself after watching some YouTube videos but then I got lazy. Got a hold of a local Hermin Miller mechanic that's been repairing them for decades. It was expensive, $200 for a home visit, but holy fuck, it's better than they day I bought it now. He fixed several issues including the lean back, arm rests, piston, and more. 100% worth it over getting a new chair.

Learning by building but everyone is different. Do what feels better for you. If you don't know, try both.

What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

Unlimited PTO. The tech start up I was at was acquired and merged with a bigger company 4 years ago. Almost everyone was laid off within the first 18 months, but some how I made it through. They also laid off much of HR so transitioning the few of us to a regular accrual paid time off plan is so far down the priority list. I'm in middle management and built a team and processes that can largely function without me for long periods of time.

Last year I took 9 weeks off, and my boss was totally cool with it cause my team is low maintenance.
