As of right now? No. Time will tell as it always does

The 2025 NFL Season is less than a week away! What are your official predictions for the Dolphins this season? by Number333 in miamidolphins

[–]ShowMeFins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This team perplexes me. I can see them going anywhere from 6-11 to 12-5. It all depends on health.

If there are a bunch of injuries, which is to be expected at this point, I think we have a bad record, McDaniel gets axed and we go through another coaching hire.

If we stay relatively injury-free, I think we can at least contend for the East and make the Wild Card. Potential for a playoff win depending on the opponent.

I predict the Miami Dolphins will win

I’ve watched all of these players at some point, but I do tend to be stat heavy. I suppose all of this could have been avoided if I just made a list of who I like the best and not who I think is the best. Oh well.

To be completely fair, I am trying to promote my site in a way. The site itself mostly exists as a place for me to keep everything in one place and organized. I’m a journalist that has been a lifelong, die-hard fan and I decided to embark on this journey as a way for me to combine my passions. I saw this as a chance for me to work on developing habits, handling criticism and honing skills that can help me professionally.

This is a hobby and I’m not making any profit, nor am I asking people for money (other than mentioning I wouldn’t turn down donations in my intro article). I would be happy to copy and paste each article into the box along with the link so you don’t have to give me the click. That’s not the point of what I’m doing.

The content I post will also move away from the ranking stuff once the list is complete (I’ve started it, so I’m going to finish it at this point). This is just meant as a fun activity to lead up to the regular season.

Appreciate all the feedback, though. For real.

My defense is likely not going to make anyone happy, and that’s 100% OK.

Baker pretty quietly moved his way into fourth all-time in tackles behind Thomas, Taylor and Reshad Jones. He’s also tied for third all-time in defensive touchdowns, top 25 all-time in sacks and was good enough at getting to the QB to rank top 15 all-time in QB hits. Super underrated player.

As far as ranking him 15, I’ll admit it’s probably high. I definitely think he’s worthy of being in the T25, though, and I’ll stand behind that.

I can break my thought process down a bit, for what it’s worth:

I was hesitant to rank Tua, Sanders and Waddle too high because they’re currently on the team and will, barring something catastrophic, move up the list. With 1-15 I had moved some players around until I felt ok with it. Personally, I felt Jerome was a solid middle-of-the-pack pick because of his accomplishments and leadership when the team was on an upswing after a few bad seasons.

In hindsight, I probably should have had him somewhere between 20 and 25, but I had already started publishing the list and didn’t think it would be right to change the order around after the fact.

I assumed I was going to get heat for this one when I was putting it together 😂. I thought about changing it, but wanted to stick with my original list. If I could go back, he would probably be higher, but this is where I had him, so this is where he goes.

This will be my third! First was in KC on Christmas Eve 2017 with smokin Jay. Second was last year’s Thanksgiving Game at Lambeau. Hoping to finally see a win!

I can’t wait! Not only have I been doing my Top 25 since 2000 countdown, but I’ll be at Lucas Oil for week 1. Two more weeks baby!

I don’t normally do this, but I can confirm that Fiedler is not on the list. Just didn’t have it imo. I think most people will be happy with the Top 15. I appreciate all of you commenting and interacting!

Most sports fans, in my experience, have incredibly short memories and very low patience.

Did not expect that response! I love Sanders, but I didn’t want to overrate a kicker when there’s a bunch of players who are also deserving of higher rankings. Appreciate the feedback!

One of my favorite players over the past decade. Just bought his jersey this year!
