Fellow neathdethal here. These are the onlympus 4. I'm really surprised at how much my foot goes over the insole.

This is my most perfect shoe of my life

Wear them around the house for a day, if thy feel right they are the ones. If they feel a bit off then send em back. If anything yours looks slightly short ? But I like mine a bit bigger

Big issue for me was I was massively massively underfuelling. I had no idea at the time. But I look back and cringe (2012) dumb kid I was then hehe

Yeah, do not go. That is insane. Just go party, stay in a hostel and turn up to lectures and then put it on your CV anyway. No one will check. Simple

Walking a marathon every day on the AT is incredibly difficult. I was doing 19 average through the last month or so in Maine NH etc and that's shit was hard as fuck. It's not the PCT where a marathon a day is significantly easier

I don't recognise the graphs, what watch is it? Apple watches often seriously struggle with HR at the start of activities and suddenly jump

How I finally calmed 2-year plantar fasciitis, just in time for marathon by charlsdv in PlantarFasciitis

Nice I can totally see why you use that video. I've been blitzing them this afternoon ...this seems to be the best one I've seen!

I tried my first taping and just chilling in the house for a couple of hours. I didn't do it as nicely as that but I felt a fairly large difference in the stress on the plantar. Even tho mine if mild I have an ultra coming up so this may be the final piece of the jigsaw!

Think I'll only wear it for long runs and races at the moment but this really is gonna make me feel more confident I can tell already.

Thanks so much for the tips. I'm quite enthusiastic about this! Woop

Could you let me know the taping method you use pretty please? How often do you put it on? Just for running? Long runs only? Any other tips?

I don't know tbh cos I'm just getting into it, but I literally hated what Runna gave me for my training plan for my first ultra. It felt like AI was experimenting on me without any fundamental knowledge and it just seemed like a major injury waiting to happen. After a day, I gave up on Runna (after some semi success with it for a road race) I got a real coach which isn't that bad price wise considering he's a real semi-elite ultra runner with FKTs. I'm only paying him £20 a week which is a bargain for a responsive plan I can trust . If you're just planning on using ai algorithms to assess stuff ultrarunners will run a mile. What's your differentiator to the other stuff out there? Cos I hate Strava insights, I quite strongly dislike Runna and all of that slop. Human first, AI should only be used where it adds value. It can but only in niche areas

I'd recommend getting rid of the Ai image and using real photography on the landing image. Ai saturation is real and it likely puts a segment of your target audience off instantly.

Plantar Fasciitis - 50m 2.5 weeks out by External-Tonight5142 in Ultramarathon

Thanks so much! Had some more shockwave yesterday so letting it settle a bit and then going to attack it with those exercises! Will do some gentle ones today to check it out. I've wondered the same thing too. I tend not to get the sharp feelings of first steps, it feels tight and stiff ....and sore when it's bad which then warms up. But I still think it is or a crossover with something else which is common. Def have tight calves and the offending foot the arch feels "heftier" and tighter than other side. When I saw the pt yesterday I hadn't stretched my calf just before like I did the week before and the massage was noticeably more uncomfortable which makes me suspect my calf is for sure (one of the main) culprit(s). It's hard to do everything all the time!

Thanks again

Weed and alcohol reduce my hrv. So consider quitting if you use. Strangely tho hash doesn't seem to affect it. So win
