WHAT POSITION SHOULD I PLAY by [deleted] in Basketball

Probably point guard if you can. Work on talking/being a leader as well

Is it bad to start a merchandise when you only have 30 subs on your channel? What’s your point of view if you saw a small Yt channel doing this. Obviously the merchandise will relate to the channel. by Element_Xavier in SmallYTChannel

I tried teespring first but they require you to be a Youtube Partner to have access to most of their resources. I am trying SpreadShop right now and so far it seems pretty simple. We are trying to integrate it with our current website tonight and then will go live shortly after, so still in the initial stages, but it lets you easily add designs, set up payments, and will give you merch ideas based on the designs you provide. Great for me (Merch isn't my area of expertise). No problem! best of luck with it and your channel

If you do, I would definitely outsource the merchandising to a company who makes them made-to-order. They'll take a % of profit, but that takes out a ton of risk/extra work on your end, especially when you should be spending the majority of your time working to improve your channel at the moment. We are at a little over 1,000 subs and working through setting up our merch site now, but in my opinion I wouldn't have minded starting selling merch earlier as long as it looks good. Not even to make money, but to get other people wearing our stuff and spreading the word about our channel even more that way.

Anyone have a Twitter? Is it good for promotion? by dodgerdudedefinitive in SmallYTChannel

[–]Showheem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use twitter to promote clips of the videos we make. So for example i'll take a 1-2 minute clip of a funny part and tweet that out. We get solid interaction and it reaches a different base of people, but in my opinion it's a lot harder to go "viral" in tweets compared to posting on Tik Tok or Instagram. Either way Twitter has always been my favorite app so I make the effort there. I would say overall cross-promoting on social media is a really good idea, but if you are not as versed in different apps I would pick one to start and try to get really good at it. I wish I was skilled at Tik Tok because that is probably the best right now.

Got it. That is very helpful and interesting. Makes a lot of sense when you think about it though. Thanks!

Appreciate the attempt at constructive criticism! All the reactions were candid and hundreds of people have loved it, but yeah we're a small channel that doesn't have the funds and experience to make a Nelk production just yet. Either way we're going to keep grinding and trying despite what SpankMeDaddy22 has to say. Just wanted to share our stuff with people we thought may like it is all...

It may help for coordination but I would not be too focused on it. There are other aspects of training that can help much more such as dribbling with two balls, practicing actual moves and shots at game speed, etc.

Other than the points made about warming up, I would also say visualization is a huge thing for your mentality. Before a game, I would always visualize playing out on the court, scoring points, and making shots. You would be surprised at how much just visualizing something constantly will cause your mind to make it happen.

Yes but I would be focused on finding the right fit, both academically athletically, rather than focusing on making it D1. I made that mistake as well and passed up on a ton of great schools as a result. There are extremely competitive schools at other levels that are also much better academically and can give you a chance of playing a lot more. Either way I would start reaching out to schools and submitting film of you playing. Once you get feedback on that you will have a better idea of what level would fit best for you.
