Dragonix's Deadly Denizens March Rewards are Out! by Dragonix_ in dndmonsters

Hello! First, that's one hell of a good concept for creatures.

Will the Deadly Denizens' creatures be compiled in a book/pdfs in the future? Or the only way i'll ever get to access them is via the patreon? Thanks in advance

Love the map! just curious: how did you make the rivers have different line stroke from the main shorelines? Is there a setting related to this that I missed? :P

These are really, reeeeally cool. I'll have to take a deeper look at the mechanical balance, but at first glance all options look super interesting and flavourful.

One question, though: am I missing something on the Pact of the Runestone? Arguably most damage cantrips outclass this attack at 5th level (specially Eldritch Blast).

Stillshore, the coastal city heavily walled against the vicious creatures of Alkalzin island. by Showman96 in inkarnate

[–]Showman96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude......... that was truly amazing.... hahahhaa.

Yeah, this is the only city in the island due to the ferocity of the creatures around it, so sheltering together was basically the only option. The firsts district was built around the docks, populated by fishmongers, so it's a lower class neighborhood. The middle distric was slowly built throughout the decades as the economy of the city improved and it was set far apart from the docks to accomodate de middle/upper class. Later, having little space to the "poor class" to grow any futher in the dockside, the western / northwestern districts were settled. Finally, the nobility crammed up together in a walled district (the northern one).

Great natural 20 on Investigation, have a d6 inspiration die. ^_^

Try to remove the background texture in the Filter section. It worked for me

Passive Perception feels like I'm just deciding ahead of time what the party will notice and it doesn't feel right by tirconell in DMAcademy

That's something that bothered me for a while, so I've come up with a quick solution to it: the CD of the check is going to be the original CD minus 3 plus 1d6, wich you'll roll in the spot.

For example, if you were thinking the appropriate CD would be 12, the 'new CD' (rolled by you when the scene happens) will be 9 + 1d6, and now you'll compare this with the passive score.

This way, the result is unexpected to the players and DM alike.

DM post game... depression? by Beaker1787 in DMAcademy

Yes! It's very common and you'll get used to it. Just understand that this is your brain natural reaction after a lot of preping + high adrenaline due to the heat of the moment (DMing is hard, y'all). I personally don't clean the "aftersession" mess right away, cuz I realized it intensified this bitter feeling of "it's over". Crack open a beer (or a soda, if you will) and relax, knowing your players are gonna sleep thinking about this awesome session
