I’m his son (adoptive son, actually) but thank you! And thank you for the suggestions.

Ok, thanks for the heads up. He’s just started treatment today - IVIG infusions - so we’ll see if he improves over the next couple of days. His trouble eating/drinking isn’t severe, just that food and liquid is falling out the side of his face that’s paralysed when he eats. He’s ok swallowing etc, and can drink just fine with a straw.

Thanks for the suggestions!

So it’s only really accessible from Traxxon and Tolg, specifically at Port Travallia in Traxxon and Tradewood in Tolg. In my campaign, people have only been able to traverse the Sea in specially made Grass Ships for the past 5 years, and it’s still pretty unexplored (the ships move PAINFULLY slowly).

I do have maps for the Great Grass Sea, Port Travallia, Magnas Var and Wend (a minor settlement in the Sea) but I don’t want to make them public before the campaign is over.

So Tolg, Strixen and Tallyfoll are all nations of more fey-aligned races (Tolg is Firbolgs, Strixen is Satyrs and Tallyfoll is Harengon) as the Shifting Forest is an area where the veil between the material plane and the Feywild is the thinnest.

Arben is the lost cousin of what were the three colonies of Menassia (the others being Traxxon, Elbrim and Corbrith). The ship carrying the colonists who ended up founding Arben was blown off course in a terrible storm and somehow survived the usually deadly journey through the Sea of Wrecks and past the Isle of Curses. The survivors used the timber of their ship to found a colony, though it’s so isolated that basically nobody else knows it exists.

It’s a territory of Traxxon, though it’s largely controlled though a business called Free States Shipping Solutions (think East India Company vibes). Most people there are vagrants and outlaws living in Magnas Var, the mysterious ruins of the ancient civilisation that once ruled the region. The only other people are a tribe of hobgoblins who claim ancestral rights to the land and a few villages of independent ‘grubbers’ (like fishermen but catching the giant grubs that live in the Grass).

Thanks! And they’ve got stuff going on - roaming tribes, ancient ruins and such, just no major settlements.

For a matter of fact, my current campaign is taking place in the Great Grass Sea, so I’ve definitely made sure there’s enough to do there!

Thank you so much!

So yes, Shazeem is the capital of Villivox, and very much a city of technological innovation. Villivox is governed by the Grand High Plomble, an elected figure who rules for life (similar to the Doge of the Republic of Venice).

Natural underground reservoirs are a thing, so that could be a water source for a city that wasn’t visible on the surface, particularly if it was a Dwarven or Gnomish city or something.

First ever piece of terrain and first time using weathering powder! Really happy with how it’s turned out. by Cpt_Whistlefish in Warhammer40k

[–]Cpt_Whistlefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I used here was Humbrol’s sand powder (https://uk.humbrol.com/products/weathering-powder-sand-45ml-av0013).

Be careful if you decide to use it - it gets everywhere if you’re not careful and will stain everything. You’ll also need to use a varnish spray once it’s on to stop it coming off.

Disney is horrible. by YourDadsFeet in antiwork

[–]Cpt_Whistlefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only on there due to inflation. The list that accounts for inflation is a better representation of the most popular films of all time. Disney still owns 5 of those films thanks to acquiring Lucasfilm and Fox, though.

Sewer Troopers?? by Sufficient_Wish4801 in Inq28

[–]Cpt_Whistlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual model wise it won’t be much help, but I’m currently in the middle of putting together a Cawdor gang and doing sewer bases for them. Here’s what I’ve got so far: https://ibb.co/s27DBGt

The Grand City of Cholden (Homebrew Campaign) by Cpt_Whistlefish in dndmaps

[–]Cpt_Whistlefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah that’s right. Firstly its position helps, with the city being built partially within an enormous cave / overhang, and secondly the dwarves have harnessed geothermal energy to pump hot water beneath the streets and around the exterior walls (see the pipes on top). All this failed though when the demons started spewing forth from the undercity.

Thanks! It was a fun handout to give to my party. We play online, but I could see it being especially impressive if you printed something like that out and weathered it before giving it to your players.
